[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]The overall design of the day was timeless and romantic with modern touches. Leaning into the beauty of Viansa we chose a neutral color palette of greens, whites and creams with touches of gold and black in the signage and rental pieces. We ultimately wanted the focus of the day to be on the marriage of Allie and Chris and gathering all of their favorite people in one place to celebrate them.
From the very start, Allie and Chris put their faith in us and trusted our process – from our design deck, to our vendor recommendations, we were able to create magic together, ensuring all of the little details were unique to the two of them.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Chris proposed to Allie on New Year’s Eve on the beautiful bluffs in Santa Barbara, CA – the city she went to college in. Chris made a wooden arch with huge bouquets of flowers to add to the gorgeous ocean views. Allie was so oblivious that the proposal was about to happen that when she saw the set-up, she thought to herself “Awww how sweet, someone must have just gotten engaged here today”, but it turned out to be for her! He asked and of course she said yes! They celebrated with champagne and brunch on the beach. Lots of happy tears were shed and they were so excited to start thinking about wedding planning.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]Allie’s dress was by the designer Martina Liana. She wanted the dress the be timeless and modern but also fun, and it was just that! She loved the removable sleeves, corset boning style top and hidden leg slit. As a sweet detail, she kept some of the extra fabric after alterations to cut into bows as a part of her bridesmaid gifts that she gave her ladies at the rehearsal dinner![/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]Allie opted to have all of her ladies in satin taupe dresses from Birdy Grey, each one wearing a different style.[/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Chris wore a custom, traditional tuxedo from Suit Supply, tailored to fit him perfectly while his groomsmen wore the Notch Lapel tuxedo rented from The Black Tux.[/field]

[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]We worked with the team at Park Avenue Catering to create the perfect summer menu for Allie and Chris’ guests. They were welcomed into cocktail hour with fresh bites like watermelon gazpacho and grilled peach-tomato bruschetta. Around the dinner table they had the choice of a bistro filet or lemon-oregano roasted chicken breast, both accompanied by roasted fingerling potatoes, baby green beans and carrots. While they were dancing, in addition to the dessert table, guests enjoyed late night pizzas which Park Ave’s team fired up in the pizza oven on-site at Viansa.
At the bar guests had their choice of three specialty cocktails – his, hers and theirs. Chris’ drink of choice was an Old Fashioned, Allie’s was a Hugo Spritz and together theirs was a Spicy Margarita. While these were flowing all night, guests were also able to enjoy beer on tap from Allie’s families brewery. And of course we can’t forget to mention the amazing wine from Viansa![/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]For florals, we worked with Emily of Flower Girl Em to create the most lush, organic florals for this day, of course allowing her to be the expert and create the magic that she always does! The palette and overall feel was modern with romantic touches. The color palette being tones of soft white, cream and neutral sand with touches of
greenery. The florals felt airy & garden inspired, reflecting the late summer
season. Some of the floral choices included garden roses, ranunculus, dahlias, lisianthus, phlox, scabiosa and tweedia with seasonal greenery.
At the outdoor ceremony we opted for alter ground arrangements to give the look of florals growing organically from the ground and to not take away from the view of the Sonoma hills. We also love the dual purpose that these serve in being able to move them to the reception space and give them more life! Placing them in areas like the head table, cake table and DJ booth.
For dinner, guests were seated at rows of farm tables decorated with a mix of bud vases and taper candles of varying heights and shapes, this is a beautiful way to add movement and dimension to the tables.
The rentals we selected were all from Encore Event Rentals. Guests were seated at wood farm tables and bistro chairs and enjoyed their food and drinks using pieces like Gramercy Flatware, Terra Linen Plates and Cosmopolitan Glasses.
From the invitations to the dinner menus, all of the paper goods and wedding day signage was created by Courtnee of Shimmer & Stain. We used modern fonts and lots of different textures in all of their pieces – gold foil on the invitations, smoked acrylic on the seating chart and fluted box stands for the bar menu. Their monogram was a piece that was carried throughout each piece – it was in their QR code on their details card in their invitation suite, on the base of their beer tap wall, and in the wax seal on their menus.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Their wedding cake was a two tier cake from Susie Cakes, one tier being red velvet and the other carrot cake. In addition to this, guests enjoyed mini chocolate chip cookies from Susie Cakes, an assortment of bundtinis from Nothing Bundt Cakes and mini cheesecakes from Park Avenue Catering. There was no shortage on sweets![/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Allie and Chris asked two of Allie’s brothers to officiate their ceremony and it was the sweetest thing ever! [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]When we learned that Allie’s family owns a brewery in Oregon, we knew we had to incorporate this detail into their day. We worked with Courtnee at Shimmer and Stain to create a self-serve tap wall for guests to enjoy three of the beers on tap. To make things even more special, her brothers created a custom mixed culture beer for Allie and Chris. They named it ‘Lot K’ which is the parking lot at the Rose Bowl where Allie and Chris first met at a tailgate. [/field]
