[field title=”Wedding Colors”]For this classic spring wedding, we wanted to truly enhance the beauty of Palmetto Bluff. We decided to simple use only a layering of ivory and white florals with touches of green within the artwork and special details.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]The day started at the May River Chapel with lush floral arch that surrounded the window overlooking the river. We definitely wanted florals to be a main statements throughout the celebration and they were lush and overflowing. In order to make those stand out, we had other details settle into the background. Chairs at the ceremony and cocktail hour were acrylic so that you focused on the tree’s overhead, linens and chargers were a beautiful white texture, yet simple so you focused on the florals and beautiful stationary artwork. We wanted the whole day to feel effortlessly balanced yet fully lush and romantic.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]From the Bride, Taylor :: ” I want to share the real proposal story. You will have to bear with me because it includes great sadness but also great happiness. My parents visited Palmetto Bluff in 2016. They spoke often about how beautiful it was and told me that I should consider it as a wedding venue. Painfully single at the time I laughed at the recommendation. However, it always stuck with me. Fast forward to November 25th 2021. My family and I were a month into grieving the loss of my little brother William. We were embarking on our first holiday, Thanksgiving without him. We booked a house on the marsh in Charleston and settled into the winding coves. Chris and I had been dating for four years and were completely enamored with each other. I was eager to start our life together and may or may not have been sending white dresses to the house as “subtle” hints. We had long planned that during our stay in Charleston we would visit Palmetto Bluff. The highly recommended venue! Traditionally, you would think I had to know a proposal was coming, as we set off to look at a potential wedding venue. However, my mind was filled with so many thoughts, none of them related to an engagement. As we entered the gates of Montage Palmetto Bluff I became overwhelmed it was possibly the most beautiful place I had ever seen. We were getting close to the end of the tour when Chris suggested we walk down a nearby dock. I watched as his eyes filled with tears as he spoke about how special this place was and how special I was to him. He got down on one knee and asked “Will you marry me?” to which I immediately responded “Hell yes!”. That night both of our faces hurt from smiling. That day taught me that two things can exist. You can experience and be so unimaginably sad and also celebrate one of the best days of your life. Thank you for allowing me to share my real proposal story, one filled with grief, sadness, joy, love, euphoria and most importantly family. “[/field]

Shopping for the wedding was such a privilege and so much fun. My mom and I create a lot of special memories together selecting each piece!” – Taylor[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]”For my bridesmaids I wanted to give them silhouette options so that everyone felt comfortable in what they were wearing. Also, I wanted to pick a color in nature and that embodied the venue. ” Dresses were from Show Me Your Mumu[/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Chris wore a Loro Piana custom tux that has their wedding date embroidered under the lapel. He had the most thoughtful touches. [/field]

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]
Our florals from Jardiniere Events were the perfect mix of modern and classic. We had a variety of lush floral arrangements that cascaded down the long center table balanced by super modern sable rose vases perfectly aligned from each direction. Lush peonies, roses, hydrangea and orchids were just a handful of the beautiful blooms we used. Layering a variety of textured helped us to ensure we didn’t get lost in a sea of white.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Taylor and Chris’ wedding cake stood in front of a lush floral wall that we used at the background for a champagne tower toast that greeted guests as they walked into the tent and then later transitioned to a photo op. Their cake was a spectacular six layers with floral cascade that mimicked the cascades on the head table. Guests were served two flavors : Yellow Hawthorne which is a Dark Chocolate Cake, Peanut Butter Mousse,
Peanut Butter Cups, Milk Chocolate Ganache and the Winged Elm made of Valencia Orange Scented Carrot Cake, Cream Cheese Filling, Candied Ginger.

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]”I loved our invitations, custom floor and crest by Champagne Maker. It really helped tie everything together. ” Champagne Maker worked with Taylor on curating an incredible story through paper. The invitation suite perfectly told guests where they were going with envelope liners of the lowcountry marsh, watercolor of the Chapel and accents with greenery and alligators. The crest – perfectly aligning T&C – was used throughout the wedding weekend in various spots to keep everything cohesive. The dance floor – the final statement was a sweetgrass inspired grid to perfect bring everything together.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Following the ceremony, guests showered our couple with petals and love as they left the Chapel. It was such a beautiful and magical moment where everyone was able to surround them as they fully took in the moment. It was truly a beautiful pause to soak in all of the love.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]Final thoughts from Taylor: “The details, venue, food, service and atmosphere were all beyond my wildest dreams. It was everything and more, I am so thankful!
