The wedding was carefully planned to reflect the beautiful coastal landscape, with the Corinthian Yacht Club in Marblehead, Massachusetts serving as a focal point. This venue was special to the couple as it was a place where they have bonded over their love for sailing and created many memories together. Marblehead, as a whole, has a special place in their hearts, providing the perfect backdrop for sharing their love story with guests coming from different parts of the country. The design was inspired by the rustic charm of old-world coastal cottages, featuring a palette of blue and green hues, block-printed linens from Stradley Davidson, natural textures, and carefully curated hard goods. The florals, crafted by Kerianne Nelson Floral, were designed to exude organic and textural beauty in shades of white, blue, and verdant greenery. Candles in varying shades of blue and green, potted herbs, and plants added character and allure to the tablescapes. Each guest was presented with bespoke menus from Peak Event Services, and the head table featured place cards nestled within small clay potted plants, hand-lettered with guests’ names by Pretty in Ink. Every element was chosen carefully to evoke a timeless charm and relaxed sophistication. From the weathered woods to rustic accents, every detail enveloped guests in a warm embrace of coastal comfort and nostalgic serenity, ensuring a truly unforgettable celebration.

Katherine had no idea what was coming, even though Pat tried to convince her to remove her helmet. She clung to her gear, oblivious to the surprise waiting for her at the top. The esteemed Island Creek Oyster added to the experience with an unforgettable live shucking display at an exquisite raw bar, tantalizing taste buds with the freshest seafood flavors. During cocktail hour, mini martinis were served as a tribute to Katherine & Pat’s favorite date night: sipping martinis on the CYC porch on warm summer evenings.

For the main course, guests could choose from locally sourced haddock or succulent beef tenderloin, with each dish celebrating the bounty of New England’s land and sea. As the evening progressed, late-night cravings were satisfied with irresistible grilled cheese fries, roast beef sliders, an iconic dish of Boston’s North Shore, and an enticing ice cream bar, ensuring guests danced into the night with satisfied appetites.

Signature drinks such as the refreshing Paloma and the iconic Dark and Stormy were expertly crafted to complement the culinary offerings. The wedding’s paper and stationery were an enchanting centerpiece to the overall design. They showcased exquisite painted watercolor artwork byWouldn’t It Be Lovely. Each piece had intricate details, including a custom interlocking monogram and a beautiful portrait of the Corinthian Yacht Club with Marblehead Light gracing the background. Caitlin from Wouldn’t it Be Lovely captured the essence of Katherine and Pat’s love story by painting their sailboat, which became a cherished focal point throughout the paper. The stationery flawlessly tied together the entire design concept by incorporating scalloped edges and delicate blue and green patterns inspired by the Stradley Davidson Linen Collective. This cohesive aesthetic extended to the menus, signs, and table numbers, where the same watercolor style and attention to detail were evident. This created a harmonious and enchanting atmosphere that captivated guests from the moment they received their invitations.

Katherine and Pat’s wedding cake came from Montilio’s, a renowned bakery that also made the iconic cake for John F. and Jackie Kennedy’s wedding. The couple decided to serve this as one of the flavors for their guests in addition to Italian Olive Oil and Mocha Marble. The Presidential White Cake comprises three layers of delicate white cake, generously filled with luscious raspberry preserves and frosted with a delightful raspberry frosting. The cake is adorned with sweet vanilla buttercream, and it has a long-standing legacy as it has graced the tables of notable occasions, including President Kennedy’s Inaugural Ball in 1961. The cake’s popularity continued as Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush chose it for their Inaugural Balls, solidifying its place in culinary history.
