Stylish Late Summer Wedding in Paris

The Planning
Design / Vibe / Vision

The overall look and feel of Nina and Ryan's stylish wedding in Paris was inspired by the traditional romantic musical film "Funny Face," fine art French Renaissance paintings, and the iconic city of Paris itself. The aim was to create an elegant wedding celebration that was chic and eclectic with both traditional and contemporary French touches!

Proposal Story

For the bride's birthday, the groom said they'd be visiting Paris! She was so excited, as it is one of her favorite places in the world. They were at dinner when he told her about the trip, and she cried tears of joy for two straight hours. The morning of the proposal, Ryan and Nina planned to take a walk along the Seine and visit the Eiffel Tower before heading to the Jardin du Luxembourg. They took a detour down one of the walkways along the river when Nina suddenly saw a little glass table with a bouquet and champagne. That's when she knew! they walked over, and Ryan proposed. They were completely alone, aside from two strangers who shakily recorded it on their phones from above. It was really beautiful.

The Details
Food & Drink

Guests enjoyed a prolonged cocktail hour where canapés were passed, and champagne, wine, and signature cocktails of Rosé Spritz and Negroni flowed. A three piece French jazz band set the mood! For their wedding dinner, guests dined on ceviche of sea bass and a filet of beef served with a potato cake and truffles. After dinner, the couple cut their signature wedding cake, a 4-tired pink lemonade cake made of lemon cake with lemon curd, raspberries, vanilla crumble, and raspberry filling. To kick off the open bar reception, the bride and groom poured bottles of Moët & Chandon into their champagne tower!

Florals & Decor

The incredible florals included campanulas, hydrangeas, garden roses, roses, sweet peas, dahlias, agapanthus, lisianthus, aster, spray roses, tuberose, delphiniums, and garden foliage. For the ceremony, a natural floral border led the bride down the aisle. At the top of the aisle, floral floor elements and floral arrangements set in dusty blue Medicis urns sat in the background. The staircase and the seating chart were also decorated in the same style. The flowers for the dinner reception were also created in a delicate garden style. Each table's floral arrangements were complimented by taupe-colored taper candles and votives of various sizes and shapes. The head table was definitely the stand out! On the table, a floral runner in white, cream, dusty pink, and light apricot ran down the center all the way down until it grazed the floor.

Wedding Cake

The wedding cake design was inspired by the wide ruffles and lace on the bride's wedding gown. Simple wafer flowers were included to give the design a sense of movement, airiness, and delicacy. Touches of muted colors in harmony with the color palette added a touch of romance.

Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs

A live harpist provided the ceremony's ambiance. “La Vie En Rose” was just one of the signature music selections played during the processional.
