Traditional And Modern North Carolina Wedding on Bald Head Island
The vision behind the wedding was shades of pink with lots of lush pink florals and greenery mixed in. I wanted it to feel and match the energy and beauty of the island with the Spanish moss. It was glamorous and pretty but cool. Think NY girl gets married in the South.
The rehearsal gown was Monique Lhuillier, the wedding dress was Galia Lahav, the wedding shoes were Gianvito Rossi, and the after-party dress was Retrofete.
The bridesmaids wore Love Shack Fancy, Staud, PatBo, Rent the runway, Monique Lhuillier, Solace London, and Neiman Marcus.
Rehearsal food was catered by Salt and Charm. Wedding food was provided by Shoals Club. We had numerous starters; the starter was a crab cake, and the entrees were either grouper fish or short rib. We had custom cocktails that were called "The Peyton", which was a spicy margarita, "The Aubrey", which was a vodka pineapple drink, and "The Dewey" who is our golden retriever named after Dewey Beach, Maryland. The famous drink in Dewey Beach is an Orange Crush so naturally, that was the drink!
The florals were designed by my design planner, Salt Harbor Designs. The inspiration behind them was doing an overhang over the head table of lush pink and white flowers with greenery mixed in. I wanted the greenery to look like moss coming down to fit the theme of Bald Head and the Spanish moss. Salt Harbor nailed it. It felt like we were floating in a sea of flowers! It was so dreamy. The ceremony flowers are classic, with white and green arbor flowers along the aisle. The bridesmaid flowers matched the girls' dresses with pops of light and dark pink flowers. The decor was traditional modern. We had round tables throughout for our guests with a white Chivari chair. The head table was 1 long farm table covered with a gorgeous BBJ La Tavola tablecloth. The champagne and cake tables were also BBJ La Tavola in white, and then beautiful pink linen for the cocktail tables. The linens matched my wedding dress perfectly, with beautiful applique throughout.
The wedding cake was three tiers from One Belle Bakery in NC. My inspiration was to surround the cake with the same-colored flowers (pink/white w/ greenery) to go with the overhanging flowers. It sat just in front of the head table and came out so beautiful. My favorite detail was having our dog Dewey's head pop out of it, along with the little pearl accents.
The special details throughout our wedding came from our Invitation suite designed by Ashley D Studio. She created a beautiful monogram for Peyton and me that I used on cocktail cups, napkins, matchboxes, and gifts for our guests. She even painted a beautiful portrait of our dog that we displayed on the bar with the cocktail menu. In addition to the cocktail menu and invitation suite, she helped to create the custom special cocktail menu ft. our dog Dewey, menu's for peyton and I, and table numbers. MonogramMary created custom napkins for us, and Southern Bee Designs created a custom champagne bottle using our inspiration from our wedding invite.
We had disposable cameras around the wedding for guests to take photos with. We also had an amazing photo booth with a guest book right outside of it. Our guests would take photos and then put 1 of them in the book and write a message. It was so special!
For "find your seat," we made a special wall with shot glasses that said, "Take a sip, take a seat," so people could enjoy our favorite shooter with our custom monogram on the shot glass. Guests were able to take them home with them!
