Romantic Wedding With Scenic View Of Lake Washington

The Planning
Design / Vibe / Vision

Envisioned by the couple for a romantic and intimate ambiance, the wedding design exuded charm and elegance, accentuated by lush garden-inspired elements. Against the breathtaking backdrop of Lake Washington and Mountain Rainer at Seattle Tennis Club, the ceremony area was transformed into a verdant oasis, evoking a sense of serenity and natural beauty, seamlessly extending into the indoor reception. The result was a celebration imbued with timeless romance and refined sophistication, where guests reveled in both the stunning surroundings and the love shared by the newlyweds.

Proposal Story

From the Bride Cathy... For my birthday, Gavin planned a surprise trip without revealing the destination. When we arrived at the airport, I discovered we were going to Phoenix. We explored the city and visited the Grand Canyon before heading to the border of Utah. That's when the amazing surprise happened – we arrived at Amangiri, a resort I've always wanted to visit but never told him about. We enjoyed stunning views and a luxurious stay. It's a romantic and special resort located in the heart of the desert. After a lovely dinner, he surprised me with a birthday cake in our room. As I was cutting the cake, he got down on one knee and proposed with a ring he had been carrying. It was a beautiful moment filled with love and excitement, and of course, I said yes!

The Fashion
Wedding Gown

Cathy chose the Pronovias IXION dress for its simple and elegant design. She especially loves the satin fabric's beautiful luster, which is not too overwhelming. Surprisingly, she bought the dress without trying it on in-store. She only got to try it two months before the wedding, but it exceeded all her expectations.

The Details
Food & Drink

By the Catering team at Seattle Tennis Club, to tantalize the taste buds of their guests, the bride and groom curated a delectable menu showcasing the finest local flavors. Complementing the exquisite fare was an array of wines sourced from the picturesque vineyards of Washington and Oregon, offering a perfect pairing for every palate. With every bite and sip, guests savored the essence of the Pacific Northwest, creating unforgettable moments of culinary bliss amidst the joyous celebration.

Florals & Decor

The wedding ceremony was designed to transport guests into a serene garden setting, where the bride's entrance felt like a stroll through a floral wonderland by A La Chloe. Towering aisle arrangements stood, showcasing a harmonious blend of larkspur, queen anne's lace, fragrant stocks, and verdant greenery. The arch and reception centerpieces dazzled with an abundance of garden roses mixed with other blooms to create a romantic ambiance. Together, these floral decorations transformed the venue into a dreamy oasis where love bloomed amidst the beauty of nature.

Wedding Cake

A small wedding cake from a local bakery was adorned with some flowers.

Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs

Music was another special part of this wedding. The ceremony music was performed by harpist Monica Schley to create a more romantic vibe. The wedding party and groomsmen entered with canon in D, and the bride entered with cany you feel the love tonight with soft and beautiful harp sounds. For the reception, jazz band Ambience Jazz invited guests with amazing lists, including the couple's first dance song, 'Can't Help Falling in Love.'

Special Detail #1
To respect their culture, couple add traditional Chinese tea ceremony at the wedding day. The couple serves tea to their partner's parents, addressing them as mom and dad for the first time. The parents, in turn, express their best wishes to the couple. To honor this tradition, bride sourced all the decorations from China, including exquisite tea cups, desserts, and plates. They added a touch of elegance to the ceremony. Bride entrusted one of her bridesmaids to host the tea ceremony, and she excelled, bringing laughter and joy to couple's parents. For the tea ceremony, Bride had a QiPao custom-made from China. QiPao is a highly classic Chinese attire often worn by brides during the tea ceremony or wedding. She chose a matching updo hairstyle and a hairpin that coordinated with the color of the QiPao.
