La Belle Époque Inspired Wedding at Beaulieu Garden
The Planning
Design / Vibe / Vision
Kelci and Blake’s Beaulieu Garden affair was a vibrant combination of striking color, speakeasy-inspired fun, and touching details deeply rooted in family tradition. The festivities began with a welcome party at the groom’s home in Napa Valley, where guests reunited and relaxed among old-growth trees and the lush golden light of wine country. Blake’s family produced a wine special for the occasion, which we finished with a custom label and a personalized zinc and pewter medallion. Zinc and wood elements carried through to the rest of the weekend’s events, from paper weights and metallic ceremony chairs to vessels scattered across the table settings. We referred to the medallion as not merely a common thread, but a “thumbprint” representing the blending of two people and their backgrounds.
Proposal Story
After years of mutual daydreaming, they decided to take the leap into marriage together. Blake planned a proposal in one of Kelci’s favorite childhood places. Using the guise of self-timed photos for holiday cards, he proposed with the help of a hidden photographer in November 2021 at a snowy state park in Lake Tahoe. And, of course, Kelci said yes.

Green Line Rivalry (Pimm's Cup)
Plenty of BC-BU contention was doused over a few pitchers of Pimm's on neutral ground in Cambridge.
Le Diplomate (Gin Martini)
The Groom’s favorite nightcap drink, best served with a side of Bookends on vinyl and profiteroles from this DC staple.
55 Buswell (Rye Old Fashioned)
The Bride’s favorite place for a toss of the dice, where if the drink wasn’t wine, it was on the rocks.
Yastrzemski (Espresso Martini)
Carl and Mike for Bochy’s 2000th at Fenway Park? Perfect blend of East and West Coast, like cold brew served up.
The Avenues (Tommy's Margarita)
The Bride and Groom’s funky, foggy home... and the drink that was first shaken in it.
Florals & Decor
For Kelci, it was very important to include facets of her St. Helena upbringing in the wedding design. She fondly remembers delicate flowers growing along the roads near her childhood home, and loves the way that meadow flowers are both wild and resilient in their beauty. We found a meant-to-be set of hand-painted floral plates in Los Angeles, as well as a set of orange velvet couches that would serve as seating for the reception. The blend of bright color and intricate floral details was both eye-catching and ever-so-cheeky, and it created a warm and welcoming environment for guests at every stage of the evening.
Wedding Cake
All tiers covers in off white fondant. Palette knife painterly strokes and blossoms in corn flowers blue., Soft-medium orange, Medium blue, yellow and soft greens in four focals. Focals to ne anchored with hand painted and sugar vines to be reaching. Flowers to be abstract and small in royal icing palatte knife technique.
Special Detail #1
Carey Lowe from The Idea Emporium designed custom wine labels from the groom's family vineyard. The wine was served throughout the evening and it was a treat for the couple to share that experience with their guests.
Special Detail #2
The ceremony incorporated the couple’s chosen shades of orange, blue, green, and yellow, with lush and textured florals lining the aisle and surrounding the vintage folding chairs we placed for seating. Our design for cocktail hour embraced the natural greenery and gardens of the property, while plush green couches with custom, extra-large lumbar pillows printed in the same daisy pattern as the couple’s invitation suite invited easy conversation and a relaxing atmosphere. Guests wrote notes for Blake and Kelci in a Willima Morris coffee table book using a purposefully-chosen copper pen — as copper tends to retain fingerprints, the pen served as a unique way for the couple to remain connected with everyone who was there that day. Guests could also leave messages for Blake and Kelci on old-fashioned telephones from After the Tone, who would later turn the messages into a vinyl record for Blake and Kelci to replay and cherish at home.
Special Detail #3
Kelci and Blake love jazz and old-school style entertainment, so we leaned on vintage flair and speakeasy elements for the after dinner events. We suspended sixteen shimmering disco balls in the tree behind the bar, and hung more disco balls behind the band on stage. Guests sipped cocktails featuring baseball-themed swizzle sticks — a nod to the couple’s dog, Fenway, and the city where they first met. As Blake and Kelci tend to play classic games while seated at a club or speakeasy, we created custom chess sets, tic-tac-toe, and backgammon that guests could play in the glow of blue leather table lamps. After a final few dances in her second, sequined dress, Kelci joined Blake to run through a tunnel of colorful streamers. They hopped into a vintage convertible — an homage to Blake’s grandfather —and drove off into the night. The perfect “Bon Voyage!” for a once-in-a-lifetime celebration!
