Abby and Drew’s wedding utilized creamy neutrals and romantic pastels. The existing stone of Sunstone Villa created an antique beige backdrop, while various shades of green, blue, and blush were woven through the design. Light, cornflower, blue of particular importance to the bride, was used throughout the wedding from the invitations, to the ceremony cite, bridesmaids dresses, and day of stationery.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]This weekend of events was romantic, classic, and tastefully festive. The rehearsal dinner was placed among the vines of the vineyard, creating an intimate al fresco experience while the wedding that followed was inspired by French market culture and placed under romantic café lighting. [field title=”Proposal Story”]Abby and Drew met during their Sophomore year at the University of Colorado at Boulder. A chance meeting at a party that neither of them had intentions of attending, they very quickly discovered years of shared history and overlapping stories. Abby and Drew had grown up just 10 minutes apart, on the opposite sides of the same hill, attended schools in the same sports league, both played water polo, and competed in swimming. Later on in their relationship, Abby would even find a video on her phone, from when she was 14, in which you can see Drew. They had spent years in parallel, and finally, their paths had crossed.

The night Drew proposed, the two drove up to Breckenridge, CO dressed for dinner. They enjoyed wine in downtown Breckenridge and then Drew told Abby he wanted to take her to a lookout point before dinner. There, about 50 feet off the path at Sapphire Point, staring off at the view and Lake Dillon below, Drew made the slightest movement to shift Abby in front of him, took one step back and got down on one knee. Abby immediately said yes. After some hugs, and lots of tears, Drew revealed the hidden photographer and their friends and family promptly jumped out! They all spent the weekend together in Breckenridge, organized completely by Drew.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]

Abby wore a floral embellished off-the-should ballgown from Kinsley James Bridal and designed by Netta BenShabu. The dress is fittingly named “Meadow” as the floral applique crawled up the bodice. And, she wore her Maid of Honor’s veil as her “something borrowed.”

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

All of the bridesmaids wore blue during the getting ready process and blue satin dresses from Revelry for the wedding itself to serve as Abby’s “something blue.” She said “These women are my favorite people (besides Drew), and I would not be the woman I am today without them. Spanning lifelong friends, to family, and friends I have met in College, they were my something blue, and with me every step of the way from the moment I got engaged to the moment we left in the getaway car (which was also blue).”

[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]The Groomsman wore classic black tuxedos, while Drew wore a custom, white tuxedo jacket with their wedding date embroidered on the inside lining.[/field]

Their signature drinks were made from Lockwood Distilling Co. spirits, a vendor which they chose as it mimicked the groom’s namesake. Hers was an Elderflower and Lemon Gin and Tonic, while His was a Strawberry Moscow Mule. They of course, also served, Sunstone Villa wine.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The florals paid homage to the Bride’s wish for French and Mediterranean inspired design. The arrangements were romantic and lush, while blending in to the natural landscape and pallet of the venue. [/field]

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The wedding cake, made by the Solvang Bakery, was three-tiered with a smooth buttercream icing finish and fondant flowers. The flavor was a decadent lemon with lemon parfait and fresh raspberries and strawberries. It was made complete with a custom figurine of their treasured dog.

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Abby’s favorite part of her day was Drew reciting his vows, saying this “Drew is not a man of many words, however he completely blew me away with his vows. Truly, the way he confidently professed his love and promises and expressed his feelings were something I will never forget. Completely original and truly from the heart.”[/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Abby says that the best advice she received before her wedding was “After the ceremony, don’t let go of your partner’s hand. Make time throughout the day to sit together and take it all in, away from everyone else. Be a guest at your wedding, and enjoy it together.”[/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

The couple’s invitations were venue forward, previewing the Villa to guests as the centerpiece for the wedding. They worked with stationer, Em Paper Co., to create a custom line drawing of our venue, and included an envelope liner invoking the essence of southern France from the moment you opened the invitation. The suite was enveloped in a custom designed velum jacket to feel as though you were walking through the vines to Sunstone and was wax sealed with our initials. The weekend itinerary was listed on the details card, surrounded but a wreath of vines and florals. The primary invitation evoked an old word, European feel, inviting guests to the ceremony, following by dinner and dancing under the stars.
