Rustic Chic Wedding at Borgo Stomennano in Tuscany
The Planning
Design / Vibe / Vision
We went for a rustic chic elegant vibe that goes very well with the Tuscan countryside, relaxed, intimate, minimalistic with a refined mood. I wanted my closest family and friends have the best time and the most special memory. Being on a destination wedding feels like travelling with your loved ones.
I love that Tuscany has very long sunsets. As a wedding photographer myself, I created a wedding that is a dream to photograph. The venue is quite intimate and I love that it has many gorgeous photo spots, while the areas for ceremony, getting ready and dinner with very close by for easy access. Surrounded by trees and beautiful nature, I would say Tuscany is really a perfect backdrop to exchange heartfelt intimate vows.
Proposal Story
Louis and I got engaged during covid, he didn't have much choice but to propose at home just the two of us. It was perfect, I never wanted anything fancy for the proposal.

The Fashion
Wedding Gown
I've always dream of wearing a beautiful wedding gown, and I found the perfect gown at The Wedding Gown Hong Kong. My dress is a mix of the classic Berta Mermaid with a romantic see through A line tulle, giving a sensual and romantic elegant mood. As we only have a little more than 30 guests, a small train will look very good in an intimate ceremony setting.
My second gown is designed for the first dance, where I have a change of look during the dance from the slow song "Perfect" to a fast song which is "Senorita"
Bridesmaid Dresses
I styled my bridesmaids in a silky champagne color bridesmaid dress, which is elegant yet easy to walk in, perfect for the Tuscan country side where the surfaces are greenery and stones where the surfaces are not too easy to walk in. They have a few flattering styles and my bridesmaids are able to choose their favourite looks.

Food & Drink
We love classic Tuscan style Italian food. Tuscany is famous for meat and pasta, so we went with the suggestions made by our wedding planner Sabrina. We had to take into account of the guests' food allergy preferences too. Below is the menu of the wedding, and we especially love the traditional Italian wedding cake and wine that is from the area.
Buffalo mozzarella with rocket pesto, balsamic vinegar and confit of baby tomatoes
Risotto with tiger prawns, asparagus and saffron
Cutlets of suckling pig in the oven cooked in Vernaccia
Spinach with apples, walnut and shavings of grana cheese
Show cake: millefeouille chantilly cream and drop of chocolate
Cellar
Vermentino la Pettegola “IGT” (Toscana)
Nobile di Montepulciano Fonte degli Angeli “DOCG” Podere Paradisino (Toscana)
Florals & Decor
Florals is one of the reasons I chose Tuscany for weddings. My florist Roberta from Nina e i Fiori is so talented and understood my visions for what I wanted. Organic, elegant, rustic is the mood we went for. My favourite flowers is peonies, and it is very likely to be available in June but we are so lucky to get beautiful ones in the perfect soft blush color! When I walk into the dinner scene with the table styling, florals and fairy lights, it's like a dream come true magical moment.
Wedding Cake
We chose a traditional Italian style wedding cake which is a freshly made cake in front of the guests. We like that fact that we could incorporate some Italian wedding traditions while having the destination wedding. The millefeouille chantilly cream and drop of chocolate is the perfect choice for a wedding cake.

March out song: Just The Way You Are - Bruno Mars
Cake Song: Sugar by Maroon 5
Special Detail #1
I had a mini boudoir shoot just before the bridesmaids portraits & first look session. The boudoir robe handcrafted by Sheryl Yip Atelier is tailored to my bodyshape and it was a special experience having an item tailor made from scratch with ideas we discussed with the designer together. My mom's asymmetric off shoulder gown is also tailor made by Sheryl.
Special Detail #2
The fairy lights & chandelier hanging over the trees, styled over a curved table provides a very chic look for photographs.
Special Detail #3
The invitation
“rustic, hand drawn, white on white, textural, minimalistic & chic” (words from the designer Gigi from Steady Hands Creative).
It communicates what to expect for the wedding, including the dress code. It gives excitement and preparation to the wedding. I loved that we could meet up with our guest for a quick catch up when we deliver it.
Printed in soft light gold on handmade paper, giving a raw yet elegant mood to it.
We included a map and drawing to the venue - a lovely detail we would like to include in our memory.
I love the hand drawn olive branch print on vellum paper as well as the mini olive detail on the white stamp. The handmade, raw touch to it reminds me of the raw texture of the venue. A design that looks so simple but so much thoughts and details communicated and created by Gigi.
