A Summer Wedding Inspired by the Natural Beauty of Aspen at The Little Nell
The Planning
Design / Vibe / Vision
Simple. Inspired by the beauty of Aspen. Timeless. Elegant.
Proposal Story
The couple met in May of 2021, got engaged in
December of 2021 and got married in August of 2022. The timeline was quick! Katie
actually booked the venue before he proposed.
They did their engagement shoot with their wedding day photographer. Jacie was a
legend and made them feel super comfortable. By time the wedding came around, they
trusted her so implicitly that she actually helped with much more than just great photos.
She recommended that the couple do their “first look” in Aspen before riding the
gondola to the top together. It allowed them to get even more incredible photos and
spend even more time together on the wedding day.
Mikhail proposed on Christmas day in front of both of their families and Katie’s maternal
grandparents. They were wearing matching Gnome pajamas.
They did a first look with their beloved dog, Stella.

Special Detail #1
Couple’s name and their story (who are they, how they met, their relationship and
wedding wishes)
Mikhail Kosyan and Katie Bonneau (now Katie Kosyan)
The couple met on Hinge! On their first date Mikhail picked Katie up for dinner and
brought along a tennis ball as a gift to her beloved dog, Stella. The second date is
infamous because Mikhail brought Katie to “paint gnomes” at a local brewery…the
genius is that you have to have a third date to go pick them up ;)
Katie grew up going to Aspen, Colorado with her grandparents. It was always her dream
to get married at The Little Nell. Mikhail told Katie he loved her for the first time in Aspen
while they were there for his rugby tournament. The place has become very special to
them.
The couple wanted the wedding to be a perfect mix of both of their cultures. Mikhail is
Armenian and was born in Eastern Europe. The couple incorporated traditional dancing,
plate smashing, readings in both english and russian, and more.
Special Detail #2
What made the day unique:
Music! A lot of traditional Armenian music with traditional dancing to match.
We did a plated dessert tasting instead of a cake.
Bride and groom changed into Adidas tracksuits for the second half of the reception.
Adidas track suits are very popular in Easter Europe and the groom is a huge fan…so
much so that he wore a bright red Adidas tracksuit on their second date (to paint
gnomes).

Advice from the couple about the event:
Enjoy! it truly goes by as fast as they say it does.
Work with people you trust! Our photographer (Jacie Marguerite) was much more than
a photographer to us. She really helped guide us through the whole process.
Try to make the wedding a weekend affair! Spend time greeting guests and family
during the rehearsal dinner and pre wedding events so you can soak up time together
(as a couple) on the wedding day.
Mikahil and Katie spent the night together, woke up and walked their dog, got coffee,
and relaxed before they had to go their separate ways to get ready. it was a great way
to start the day and set intentions.
