If Paris Fashion Week Was Inspired by Palm Springs at Wrensmoor Castle

The Planning
The Inspiration
As we move forward from the indoor days of the pandemic, more and more couples seek to make a big statement with their wedding design. This shoot at Wrensmoor Castle centers around personal expression by featuring bright, bold color choices paired with maximalist design.
The Venue
Wrensmoor Castle opened as a new venue this year (2023) and, to date, has only had one real wedding take place on its grounds. This sprawling castle-style estate makes one feel like they have touches of that European wedding style without traveling overseas. The wallpapered, chandelier-lit grand staircase makes a big impact along with the various balconies and arched walkways. I am personally in love with the large lawns around the premises that can be transformed into entertaining spaces but also provide you with a great view of Los Angeles on all sides. One of the best parts about this venue is that it is also an Airbnb with many rooms, so you can rent the castle out the day before and the night of your wedding and have your favorite people/bridal party stay on-site with you for the duration of your event! Photographer Vanessa Todd commented: "From a theme perspective, I knew I wanted this editorial to feel grand, even for a micro wedding, so the style of Wrensmoor absolutely helped elevate the style, theme, and vision for our shoot with the help of its turrets, lion statues, water fountains, chandeliers, and luxurious corners."
The Fashion
Wedding Gown
Models Cara and Ashley (who’d just gotten engaged two weeks prior) got to experience a trial run of their own wedding in gowns to complement each other’s style — Cara wore a romantic lace gown with oversized blooms in her bouquet, and Ashley donned a dramatic ballgown with an extravagant bow, paired with a delicate bouquet.
Wedding Party

The guests were told they would be styled “If Marie Antionette was Gen Z” or “If Paris Fashion Week was inspired by Palm Springs.” Eclectic details, pearls, bows in hair, rhinestones, parasols, and wearable florals all made an appearance.

The Details
Florals & Decor
The décor focused on a rainbow of flowers that cascaded across the castle’s exterior, mimicking the reception tablescape of prints, patterns, florals, ribbons, textures, and touches that lead the eye everywhere all at once. As photographer Vanessa Todd put it: “It’s like a visual feast!”
Favorite Design Element
Small satin ribbons were adorned to the bridal bouquets, as well as the arrangements on the table to carry the theme across the finish line. “If we could tie a ribbon to it, we did,” Todd remarked.
