Destination Wedding Filled With Timeless Elegance And Beautiful Botanicals

The Planning
Design / Vibe / Vision

Mikaela and Konstantin's wedding at Monemvasia is a vision of timeless elegance. The color palette, dominated by dark green, white, and tarnished gold, creates a sophisticated ambiance reminiscent of classical beauty. Botanical elements, delicately intertwined, breathe life into the decor, with lush greenery and pristine white blooms adorning the venue.

Proposal Story
Mikaela and Konstantin have been together for a very long time, 15 years! They went to high school together, back in Luxembourg. After many years of distance relationship, mainly because of Mikaela going to medical school, they moved together in London where they still live. The proposal took place in July 2020, as they just emerged from the first Covid lockdown, on the beautiful cliffs on the south coast of England.
The Fashion
Wedding Gown

From the bride... I tried on a few different styles of wedding dresses but kept returning to the style of a large A-line dress with a train in satin and a lace top. The dress I chose was from Rosa Clara, it has an open back with a bow (I love bows!) and a lace top with a large satin skirt. I chose to wear a vail for the ceremony to make it a little bit more formal.

Bridesmaid Dresses
The bridesmaids, draped in matching dusty blue dresses, embody a serenity that complements the lush surroundings.
Groomsman Attire

The groom wore a black tie dinner jacket and trousers with a tailor made white dress shirt and a bow tie, which matched with the groomsmen in black with a very subtle dark navy blue floral pattern. The groom and groomsmen, attired in impeccable black tie ensembles, exude sophistication and timeless style.

The Details
Food & Drink
A personal touch was an amuse bouche that had been imported by the bride, a type of Swedish caviar, served with a shot of strong alcohol. The entire party sang a traditional song along with this dish.
Florals & Decor
The wedding ceremony, framed by a magnificent arch adorned with green and white blooms, paints a picture of natural grace and purity. This botanical theme seamlessly extends to the reception, where centerpieces echo the ceremony's beauty, creating a harmonious transition between the vows and the festivities.
Wedding Cake
The couple chose not to have a wedding cake
Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs
Having two priests from different religions felt like a very personal touch! They also sang hymns in English and Swedish. The music choices were very personal, for the bride's entrance a piano piece from a Swedish composer was chosen, one that means a lot to the bride. The music played when they exited the ceremony was also carefully chosen, it was "I'm a believer" by The Monkees, a fun, upbeat song with beautiful lyrics. This was definitely one of our couples favourite moments as it lifted up the entire ceremony and everyone sang along and smiled as they threw rice! They then had a number of music pieces to introduce every speaker (a Swedish wedding has many speeches) which was a fun touch.
