Vanessa and Jordan wanted a timeless, intimate event with a neutral palette. The couple envisions an intimate evening filled with cultural music and a fun dance party, all surrounded by warm candlelight outdoors. Park Winters was chosen for its timeless garden feel and private setting in Winters, CA. Although the heat wave forced the wedding to be moved indoors, the planner Events by Kristina Elyse, recreated the outdoor ambiance indoors flawlessly.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]Vanessa and Jordan have known each other since 6th grade! Vanessa put together a family shoot mainly to capture their puppies! Jordan thought, what better time to propose since there will be a photographer and she has her nails done! He emailed the photographer separately to coordinate the perfect location. He got Vanessa’s sisters and best friend involved to create a picnic on the river and hired a florist to create a beautiful backdrop. After the shoot he had their friend’s and family waiting at their favorite restaurant to celebrate. [/field]

Vanessa wanted something timeless and elegant, and Marianna Hardwick’s Rose Gown checked every box. As a makeup artist herself, Vanessa always recommends to her clients, “wear a gown that you will look back on in 20 years and still love”, and she followed her own advice after finding a timeless A-line ballgown with a front slit. At the end of the night, Vanessa changed into a Hailey Bieber-inspired sleek halter neck dress from Revolve.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]

The couple wanted the night to feel like an intimate dinner with delicious food since they are both foodies! Park Winters offers an incredible menu with seasonal produce farm-to-fork! The guests began the meal with a farm green salad topped with honey shallot dressing and peaches picked from Park Winter’s garden. Miso Honey glazed King Salmon over a bed of book choy, Roasted New York Steak with potatoes gratin and summer squash, and Garden Vegetable lasagna! The guests enjoyed the specialty cocktails: Her drink was white linen, muddled cucumbers with vodka, and he was a rum and coke. They both share a love for mocktails and provide a dry option: muddled berries and sparkling water, picked specially by the bride and groom. The night ended with late-night snacks, pizza, the groom’s all-time favorite food.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Keeping with the minimal and classic theme for her wedding, The florist, Bella Nozze, used white and ivory flowers to accentuate every touch point of the wedding. Specialty white blooms danced across the bountiful greens, designed to look as though they were part of the venue. The symbol of romance, voluminous roses, were in the bride’s bouquet and lined the bride and groom’s head table. A mix of white floral medley was present in all the other floral installations.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The couple wanted something light and fresh and chose a timeless vanilla cake with fresh raspberry filling made by Cami Caked. The couple opted for a private cake cutting before the ceremony so they could enjoy more time with their guest. The quick cake cutting was done to the song This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) by Natalie Cole playing in the background.

It was important to the bride’s family to bring in a little bit of Mexican culture, so the couple had a traditional mariachi band, Mariachi Mex Cali, play during the ceremony and all of the cocktail hour. The guests danced to live music under the setting sun while enjoying the specialty cocktails picked specially by the bride and groom. For their first dance song, the couple chose You Are the Best Thing by Ray LaMontagne, and the party ended with Coming Home by Leon Bridges.

Finding table assignments was the focal point of cocktail hour. “Together is a beautiful place to be” was the title for the escort chart, which was the theme for the entire evening. Three tall white pillars with crisp black lettering and greenery at the bases made the statement the couple was looking for, beautifully designed by Shimmer & Stain.

The couple’s dogs, Toby and Murphy, are a huge part of their lives. With the heat, they weren’t able to have them join the ceremony, but as proud dog parents, Vanessa wanted to include their puppies into the wedding. Shimmer & Stain perfectly captured their portrait on a linen cocktail sign, and Aerialist Press incorporated the design into their save the date. They also made an appearance on the specialty cocktail menu; theirs was a margarita with a Tajin Salt Rim in honor of their sweet and spicy personalities!

[field title=”Special Detail #3″]The couple read private vows for their first look including memories they shared all the way to their first meeting in the sixth grade. [/field]
