An Intimate and Romantic Lake Como Wedding Overflowing With Flowers
From the bride... I was obsessed with Bridgerton while planning the wedding and wanted that vibrant yet soft color vibe for our wedding. I wanted to enhance the colors of the villa, which is why we matched the moms' dresses to the shutters and the bridesmaids' dresses to the flowers in the garden.
I wore Adeline by Rita Vinieris. I was feeling discouraged while dress shopping and had decided to call it a day, when I saw the dress on my way out. I asked my stylist if I could try it on, even though it was a very different silhouette from what I wanted, I was drawn in by the details on the top. I immediately started crying when I looked in the mirror, and more tears began flowing when she told me the dress was called Adeline, which is my grandmother's name. It was meant to be!
Working with Sunlake Catering was a dream! The food was incredible, restaurant quality, and they were so helpful in assisting us as we paired the food and wine. I felt like we truly had an authentic Italian cuisine experience at our wedding. Upon arrival, guests were greeted with prosecco as a welcome drink, which continued to be served into cocktail hour, where it was met with aperol and limoncello spritz. The food served during cocktail hour was delicious; we had a large charcuterie-like spread on the tables, and passed apps included meatballs, chicken, Parmigiano cheese on a crouton topped with truffle, and a biscuit of Parmigiano cheese paired with Praga ham. For dinner we were met with our first course, ravioli filled with burrata, fresh tomatoes and basil, paired with Baracco de Baracho. Our second course was sliced sirloin beef atop salad, with walnuts, Parmigiano Reggiano cheese and balsamic vinegar pearls, paired with Montepulciano Superiore. After dinner we had an open bar, but continued to serve our specialty drinks of aperol and limoncello spritz.
Margarita at Lake Como Florist is an absolute artist! She was so easy to work with and truly brought my vision to life. I didn't want to overdo it with the florals because I didn't want to take away from the natural beauty of Lake Como and Villa Regina Teodolinda. I told Margarita I wanted to do a large, fluffed, dramatic arch for the ceremony, and she definitely delivered! I felt that the florals in our ceremony space complimented both the villa and the scenery of the lake but still had that wow factor I wanted. For the tablescape, I loved the idea of one large table with the floral piece running down the middle, accompanied by candles. Unlike our arch, I asked that we include a light pop of color into this arrangement to compliment the peach color of the villa. The flowers were so perfect; it was like I had taken the vision I had in my head and handed it to Margarita, who made it come to life!
