Vintage European Garden Party in Temecula, CA

Megan's initial inspiration for her wedding vision stemmed from her childhood memories of using vintage blue and white floral English countryside dishes in her family home. These very dishes were originally gifted to her mother as her wedding tableware, and they served as the primary source of inspiration for Megan's special day. Megan even used one of these dishes in her detail’s photo. Megan wanted her wedding to feel like a vintage European garden party. The vintage stonehouse, blue and white florals, parasols, and hand held fans all reflected the vintage european garden party theme.

Megan and Lane met their first semester of college at Baylor University. They both knew from the moment they met, there was something special about one another. It was as close to love at first sight as you can get. They spent much of the next year building a friendship and started dating in September of 2020 following months spent separated due to Covid. They dated throughout college and made some wonderful memories. In November of 2022, Lane surprised Megan with a proposal of engagement just one month before her graduation in December of 2022 at a beautiful lake outside of Waco. Family and friends traveled to Waco from all over the country to surprise and celebrate the couple and this new season.

Megan wore a crepe off the shoulder fit and flare wedding dress by Mikaella. The dress could also be work strapless by snapping the sleeve into a pleated bow in the back to allow for more movement.

The bridesmaids dresses by the Dessy Group, reflected the overall blue and white floral theme seen throughout the wedding.

The groomsmen and groom wore classic black tuxedos.

Passed hors d’oeuvres included Spanakopita, Bruschetta, Jalapeno cream cheese poppers, caprese skewers, and shrimp cocktail. Dinner featured Filet Mignon Black Truffle Perigourdine with roasted maitake mushroom and pan seared salmon roasted pepper piperade with charred green onion. The entrees were paired with Oven Roasted Brussels Sprouts and a Yukon Potato Puree. They also offered two salads including a Hearts of Romaine Miso Caesar Salad and Prosciutto & Stone Fruit Salad with Local Greens, Mozzarella Pearls, Pistachio, Pickled Cherries, White Balsamic & Cilantro Vinaigrette.

Blue and white florals dotted the whole ceremony and reception. Blue and white delphinium, white roses and greenery. Florals were displayed on a cross at the end of the aisle during the ceremony. Guests showered the couple in rose petals as they exited down the aisle following the ceremony. Florals were also hung on the stone house porch.

The couple chose a three tier white chocolate raspberry cake, painted with blue watercolor themed florals.

The couple chose scripture to be read during the ceremony as well as the hymns “Tis So Sweet,” “Be Thou My Vision,” and “ Before the Throne of God Above,” to be played on an acoustic guitar during the ceremony. The reception music was performed live by a 6 piece band. The music selections included various songs that fit the overall classic vibe of the wedding including Frank Sinatra, Natalie Cole, Louis Armstrong, and more.

Megan and Lane wanted their wedding to be fully centered around Christ. After reciting their vows they chose that their first act of marriage be to partake in the act of communion and prayer as a reflection of Christ’s love and his sacrifice in their own lives.

Megan's wedding ring was a custom design by Lane, crafted by the same family jeweler who also designed Lane's mother and grandmother's wedding rings.

Megan incorporated the tradition of "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue" into her wedding day. She wore her mother's cherished childhood cameo ring on her right ring finger as her "something old." Her wedding dress represented her "something new." The communion goblets used in the ceremony were a meaningful touch, as they belonged to Lane's parents from their own wedding, serving as Megan's "something borrowed." Lastly, Megan's blue heels by Seychelles completed the tradition as her "something blue."
