Organic Texture Meets Modern Design at Roblar Winery

[section title=”The Planning”]

[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Our color palette was a blend of sage green, cream, black, rose pink, and mustard yellow. I wanted our wedding colors to be an organic, natural feel that complemented the beautiful property of Roblar while maintaining a modern feel. [/field]

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]We envisioned a wedding that was both organic and modern. My passion for gardening and agriculture naturally led me towards a farm or barn venue, but I was adamant about avoiding anything overtly rustic or traditional. Roblar was perfect for us; the contrast of the black Tuxedo Barn against the lush vegetable garden, vineyard, and sprawling grounds was everything we had been searching for. To top it off, the spacious on-site home provided the perfect location to accommodate our loved ones and create a truly intimate experience during our wedding week.

Above all, we desired a wedding that was deeply personal and reflective of us as a couple. Every element, from the music and readings to the dinner tables named after our shared travel destinations, was carefully chosen to convey our love story.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]After dating for 6 years and knowing each other since highschool, Cameron proposed on one of our favorite hikes in Idyllwild, California. We were close to the highest point of the hike when he suggested we move off of the trail to check out the view. When I turned around from taking photos, he was holding a ring box. It was the last thing I was expecting and the most special and intimate place to propose! [/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]It was really important for me to feel comfortable, beautiful and most importantly like myself. Nicole at Samara Beauty flawlessly executed my vision, creating a look that was both elevated and effortless. My makeup felt so fresh and natural and I couldn’t have been happier with it. She transformed my hair into a stunning, relaxed bun that completed my look and perfectly complemented my Willowby Watters gown.[/field]

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]Bridesmaids wore a mix of sage green dresses in the style they loved with white and pink florals. They all looked gorgeous! [/field]

[section title=”The Details”]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]We chose New West Catering because we love their restaurant Industrial Eats and they offer really unique and delicious options. Standout appetizers included lamb lollipops guests ate directly off the bone and mini rubens of beef tongue pastrami. For dinner we offered an option of Surf and Turf with filet of beef and pan roasted halibut, or a vegetarian option of roasted portobello mushroom.[/field]

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]A very special aspect of wedding planning for me was working with Parker and Posies. The owner Brittany is a close friend of mine and I had so much fun working with her on everything from picking our wedding colors and designing tablescapes.

I loved working with Velvet Fox Designs for our wedding invitations, day-of paper, and signage! Their designs are so unique and fun and they really captured our personalities and style. My favorite piece was the ceremony pamphlets, which were actually in the shape of fans so that guests could use them to cool down. [/field]

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The couple did not have a cake, instead they exchanged cupcakes.[/field]

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Our ceremony was on the lawn of Roblar Farm with the breezy black pepper trees as our backdrop. One of our favorite memories from our wedding day was a unique moment we incorporated into the ceremony. Prior to exchanging rings, we invited our loved ones to participate in a collective expression of support for our marriage. Our officiant (and my Brother) encouraged everyone to cheer, clap, and voice their support on the count of three. It was a meaningful moment to see all of our guests erupt into enthusiastic applause and cheering. Some even jumped out of their seats! This moment filled our hearts with gratitude and served to remind us of the immense support network that surrounds us. [/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Our cocktail hour was hosted in my absolute favorite setting of Roblar Farm – the organic garden, under a pergola covered in grapevines, surrounded by blooming flowers and crops! We had signature bride and groom cocktails and even included a signature cocktail for our dog, Indie. To add a touch of fun and personality, we included cocktail napkins with bride vs. groom trivia questions like “Who made the first move?” and “Who is Indie’s best friend?”.

Our love of craft beer was another element we were eager to incorporate into the festivities. We worked with Tap Truck SB to have a special craft beer truck onsite and hand picked some of our favorite beers to serve throughout the reception. [/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #2″]After our dinner in front of the Tuxedo barn, my husband delivered a heartfelt speech thanking our families and friends for their love and support. As he invited everyone inside for the reception, the barn doors rolled open behind him, revealing our band playing a lively song, our photobooth, dessert table and more. This surprise moment got everyone excited, and guests eagerly streamed inside to dance the night away! [/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #3″]We surprised our guests with a silent disco hosted by one of our good friends and groomsman to keep the party going past the noise ordinance. The energy was electric as everyone let loose and embraced the fun, funky tunes. I will forever have a memory of taking my headphones off to hear everyone’s clomping feet and people singing “San Francisco, where’s your disco?” Even some of the wait staff from our catering company, New West Catering, couldn’t resist and joined in on the fun. They wore headphones while passing our late night bites of burgers and shoestring fries, or just joined us on the dance floor![/field]
