A Romantic, Anything but Ordinary Wedding Celebration in Newport, RI Inspired by Modern & Chic Blush Accents
Mackenzie and Rob wanted the day to read romantic, glamorous, modern, and anything but ordinary for Newport. In our first design meeting, we worked with linen colors and built the design scope from there. Blush was a must for Mackenzie. She has always loved the feminine touches, but she wanted it to also read modern and chic. White, blush, acrylic, and silk were the blueprint colors and materials on how their dream was transformed into a reality. White drapery was pulled in to calm down the teak and yellow tones of The Bohlin at the Newport Yachting Center tent. Crystal chandeliers were brought in as lighting and were able to really transform the mood and feeling under the tent, especially as the sun went down. Guests felt like they were in a fairytale with the crystal lights sparkling over them the entire evening. Every little detail was tied in, from the invitations, to the day-of signage. Callidora Letterpress & Design created the most perfect invitations that were a thoughtful peek into the design vision of the day, which was extremely important not only to their wedding planner, Stephanie King Events, for a design concept but also to give a peek into the guest experience for the day. The invitations featured a custom Bohlin sketch, a vellum wax seal, and a modern logo all tied together with a pretty silk blush bow! Walking into The Bohlin it was breathtaking. From the large-scale blush and acrylic signage designed by Wall to Wall Ink. to the long Tuscan tables draped with an Ibiza white linen from Peak, it was a beautiful, thoughtful vision that was executed as designed. The Bohlin as dressed it had never looked before and wasn't your average Newport wedding. It was ethereal, romantic, and modern. This was exactly what Mackenzie & Rob wanted. For the tablescape, we went minimal with a champagne blush silk runner paired with an opaque sparkly charger topped with a custom menu. The crystal glassware tied in all the glamorous details of the chandeliers and white drapery. Candles lined the tables, and the blush and white florals were an elegant touch. The acrylic chairs were a must to really emphasize the modern style that the couple loved. Stephanie Berenson Photography did an incredible job telling the story of the evening through photos. The couple lived through the event presently with such joy on their faces, and you can see that translates so well in all their photos. - Stephanie King Events
Mackenzie found her wedding dress at her first appointment with one of her bridesmaids at Flair in Boston. She chose the Fairmont gown by Jane Hill for a timeless yet modern look. It was the most stunning dress, and she wore it so well.
The bridesmaids wore dresses by Jenny Yoo in the color Petal, which perfectly complemented the blush details throughout the venue reception space. The elegance and colors matched the groomsmen's suits perfectly.
The groomsmen and groom went with custom tan Thom Browne suits. The groom's suit had custom embroidery on his sleeve with their wedding date.
The after party was held at the Surf Club Newport to keep the celebration going as long as possible.
The bride wanted a fun mini dress to change into for look #2 for dancing and the after party. Custom designed by Bremelia Custom Bridal, the mini featured tulle straps, feathers & pearls.
