A Modern Romantic Summer Affair In Texas

Lexi and Josh chose whites, creams, peaches, and champagne throughout their floral design, invitations, and bridesmaid dresses. Some greenery filled the venue as well, especially hanging from the eye-catching chandeliers at The Arlo.

Lexi and Josh’s summertime wedding in the hill country was filled with love, laughter, darling details, and so much dancing. The two met working a summer job as college students, so it was only fitting that they wed in the summertime, choosing a date that was exactly one year to the day since their beautiful, intimate engagement. The bride opted for an elegant satin gown with a full skirt and a pearl studded veil, drawing all eyes to her all night – with a little extra help from Lola Beauty. The groom chose a black tuxedo, matching Lexi’s romantic, classic style. Whites, pinks, and champagne (and not just the champagne tower!) were a constant throughout, aside from the colorful cocktails shaken up by Too Shay Spirits. The Arlo posed as the ultimate setting for a bright and airy wedding, with it’s large windows letting in the natural light that only emphasized the beautiful design planned out by the Ashley Nicole Affair team. From a custom invitation suite designed by their dear friend who owns Green Girl Design Co., to an incredible ceremony backdrop put together by Forsythia Florals, to a simple sweet cake baked by Feathers & Frosting, this local team of vendors creative a cohesive look that took “classic” to a whole new level . The Texas heat was no match for the heat of the party, with Blake from Premier Entertainment bringing the house down – keeping the dance floor full until the sparkler exit. As Lexi + Josh look back on this dream day, they can only keep saying how much they loved their vendor team and had so much fun working with each and every one of them.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Josh turned to Lexi’s closest friends and family early in 2022 to plan the perfect, intimate proposal for his dream girl. Lexi’s best friend (and stationery designer) Liz got in contact with the lovely ladies of Camino Real Ranch since she loves them and their venue. They connected with Josh to rent the space for the proposal. Lexi’s sister (and maid of honor) Monica took the reins and decorated the greenhouse in light bright florals and tons of candles. When Lexi arrived, Josh had set up outfit options for her to change into, and a laptop with a video of all of her favorite people telling her why they love her, them as a couple, and how excited they are for her. Her best friends popped out to watch the video with her, and then send her on her way to Josh. The walk to the greenhouse seems so long, but she made it inside and saw Josh standing at the end smiling from ear to ear. He got down on one knee and asked her to marry him with the most gorgeous ring that they picked out together. She said yes (of course!) and the friends and family hiding nearby came in for hugs and to bring the couple champagne. Then, there was an extra surprise back home with an engagement party!

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]

Lexi didn’t go with her initial vision for her gown, which happens more often than not. After trying on dresses at three different shops, she found “the one” at a local bridal shop in the town over. She went more classic and satin, feeling like an actual princess in a fuller skirt and a more structured bodice. She paired the floor length gown with her “something blue” – some blingy strappy heels from Badgley Mischka – and simple pearl jewelry. Her pearl studded veil was everything and more to add onto this look!

The bridesmaids wore all champagne gowns from SHow Me Your Mumu. Lexi let her girls pick which dress shape/style they felt most beautiful in, which always helps everyone look best in the photos! The girls paired their champagne dresses with nude heels and neutral glam beauty.

Lexi & Josh searched for the perfect catering fit for them and landed on Vestals, who gave them meals with two different entrees. They worked with Shay of Too Shay Spirits (recommended by a friend) and she and her team made the most beautiful, delicious cocktails out of their adorable bar cart! The signature guava margarita – which Josh mixed up for Lexi for months and months before the wedding – was such a hit.

Forsythia Florals brought Lexi’s floral vision to life with a larger than life bouquet and a beautiful ceremony backdrop that was later moved to create the ultimate head table look.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The couple opted for a simple, vintage-styled cake for photos and cutting. Feathers & Frosting pulled it off perfectly, with an all white one-tiered cake and cute writing spelling out “just married”.
