The First Kiss On A Ferris Wheel Inspired this Whimsical Meets Glam Estate Wedding

The Planning
Design / Vibe / Vision
When I think about our wedding day, my heart is so full. I envisioned a summer evening of pure bliss, celebrating with our family and friends in a large estate that had everything we needed in one location. We wanted our ceremony to be heartfelt and intimate, our cocktail hour to be jazzy and soulful, and the reception to be a party! At the end of the night, we wanted our guests to leave smiling and full of joy, saying, “We wish we could do it all over again.”
Proposal Story
My husband and I had our first kiss on the Great Wheel in Seattle, WA. So it was meaningful to us to incorporate that in some way on our wedding day, and our wedding planners made it happen! We had a custom gold Ferris wheel made paired with walls for guest escort cards on each side labeled, Come take a ride with us. Each escort card had a fun fact about our first kiss on the back.
The Fashion
Wedding Gown

My wedding dress was everything! I chose a dress by Galia Lahav from Stanley Korshak Bridal Salon. It was couture, sexy, and glamorous, everything I wanted. So much so that I chose not to do a dress change.

Bridesmaid Dresses
The Bridesmaids each chose their own favorite style of blush pink that complimented their bouquets. I didn't want anything to overpower or take away from the florals and decor, so I kept the dresses personalized and simple. Immediately following the ceremony, my bridal party danced with me into the reception space to Rihanna's Work.
Groomsman Attire
My husband decided to go with a custom classic navy tux with a black lapel. He knew exactly what he wanted from the beginning. The groomsmen matched his look with each wearing customized socks with their signature nicknames printed on them.
The Details
Food & Drink

Vestals Catering did an incredible job with dinner. Dinner began with their signature seasonal salad with mixed greens, berries, and feta drizzled with Texas honey dressing. The main course was their choice of citrus grilled chicken or herb-crusted bistro fillet. Seasoned vegetables and roasted potatoes with fresh baguettes finished off the meal.

Florals & Decor

Our florist, Wedfully Yours, created beautiful floral arrangements that included mixtures of white/cream floral types, greenery, textures, and touches of blush to create organic shape and interest. The chapel had several large floral installations that pointed everyone's attention to the altar. The reception space had flowers dripping off of the sweetheart and cake table. Each guest table had a mixture of flowers and candles to create an elegant atmosphere but didn't obstruct their view of one another during the reception.

Wedding Cake

Our cake, made by Butterfly Cakery, was simply amazing. We had a 4 tier cake with Snickerdoodle and white mouse cake for the top 3 tiers and chocolate with chocolate mousse cake for the bottom tier. Custom decor details included smooth classic buttercream base coverage, fondant elements, petals, florals, stemmed sugar, and wafer paper florals with the cake wrapped in white tulle wrap.

Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs
Nick and I each spoke our vows to each other. We both shed tears during the ceremony because we were so filled with love and gratitude to have found one another. That moment of standing before all of our family and friends, sharing what our love meant, of making promises to continue to support and believe in one another, meant everything.
Special Detail #1
I loved everything about our wedding day, but my favorite part of the wedding was dancing with our family and friends and seeing them have the best time on the dance floor! We swagged and surfed until we couldn’t anymore, and it was so much fun!
Special Detail #2
On the wedding day, pause, slow down, and take in everything. The day really does fly by, and it’s important to cherish and enjoy every moment and not stress about the little things. You want to be able to look back on your wedding day and know it was everything you’ve dreamed you wanted it to be.
Special Detail #3

There were so many beautiful details that it’s so hard to choose. We got married at The Hillside Estate and the venue in and of itself is beautiful! We absolutely loved the design of our reception. From the sage green round monogrammed dance floor to our lush sweetheart table, our stunning wedding cake, and our incredible tabletop designs. All were designed and planned perfectly by our wedding planning team, Gathered Events.
