[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Lani & Jeremy wanted a wedding that felt classic, refined, and retained a fine-art appeal in the heart of the Pacific Northwest. They chose Lakewold Gardens because they loved the European-style architecture of the Wagnar House, the unique qualities like the mural in the foyer and the curved staircase, and of course, the breathtaking grounds. Featuring expansive gardens and a wisteria covered terrace, Lani knew as soon as she saw it that Lakewold Gardens was the venue for their special day.

With an intimate guest list of less than 30, Lani & Jeremy wanted to focus on providing their guests with an unforgettable experience and prioritizing details that would create a story. Inspired by the mural in the foyer, that story started the moment guests received their invitation, with the mural’s soft, garden aesthetic highlighted in the invitation suite. Throughout the day, guests were escorted from one beautiful scene to the next, each with intentional design elements that represented a continuation of that feeling; beautiful, inviting, and refined. [field title=”Proposal Story”]On the brink of New Year’s Eve, Jeremy and Lani found themselves without solid plans. He tossed around some ideas, and Lani suggested a walk by Lake Washington to enjoy the upcoming fireworks. He was careful to make her think it was entirely her idea. As they strolled along the docks, Jeremy suggested they take some photos against the scenic lake backdrop. To Lani’s surprise, he dropped to one knee revealing a sparkling, vintage style ring. He then stood up and pointed to a passerby, and Lani quickly realized they were surrounded by friends working hard to capture the big moment! They ended the evening with a toast with their friends, New Year’s fireworks, and the precious memory of his proposal.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]The Bride wore Camille by Stesha Ho Bridal Couture. Her gown featured ruffled Chantilly lace with a gathered tulle tiered skirt, a deep v neckline and back, and the most beautiful lace and ribbon detailing in the bodice. Her shoes were Libby by Bella Belle, the perfect selection to compliment the lace embroidery in her gown. The warm ivory tone perfectly complimented the foyer mural that served as inspiration for so many of the days details. She wore a custom floor length veil and the same beautiful heirloom earrings that her mother wore on her own wedding day.[/field]

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]The bridesmaids wore satin gowns in a blush pink with ruffled straps and a deep v back, a nod to the brides deep v, ruffle lined wedding gown. [/field]

[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]The groom and groomsmen wore sleek, black tuxedo’s in matching styles from The Black Tux, keeping their look cohesive and elevated. [/field]

[section title=”The Details”]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]Dinner was a highlight of the evening. With an intimate reception set on the terrace under sweeping wisteria vines, guests were treated to an incredible dining experience in the most magical setting.

Cocktail hour featured passed crab stuffed mushrooms and caprese salad on bamboo skewers as guests strolled through the gardens and sipped cocktails from the bar.

After guests were escorted to the terrace at the long, intimate dinner table, they enjoyed a plated meal featuring a delicious salad topped with gorgonzola cheese crumbles, caramelized pecans, blueberries and served with fresh strawberry vinaigrette shots. The main course featured sesame ginger salmon fillets garnished with black and white sesame seeds, chicken marsala, garlic chive mashed potatoes, roasted sweet mini-peppers and rustic breads served with sweet butter. [/field]

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Lani and Jeremy’s floral design by Emerald City Flowers complimented the beautiful garden venue using lush blooms and greenery. Their thoughtfully curated floral selections included quicksand roses, young blackberry foliage, ranunculus, white delphinium, lisianthus, and huckleberry branches. Lani’s bridal bouquet was organic and romantic with white ranunculus, bouncy sweet peas, raspberry leaves, phlox, and garden roses. Wisps of greenery added movement and breadth.

The ceremony aisle was lined with garden-style floor arrangements, each full of whimsical greenery and exploding with blooms, mimicking the surrounded gardens.  At the forefront of the ceremony was the asymmetrical installation, designed to highlight the beautiful architecture of the Wagner House while continuing the garden feel.

The wedding cake was surrounded by a meadow of flowers that complimented the sugar flowers by Alewa Bakeshop including the sweetest seasonal berry details for their August wedding.

The long reception table featured bud cases of delicate blooms alongside larger arrangements, bringing the garden setting to the forefront of the meal. The sweetheart table was framed by an asymmetrical floral installation, garden-inspired ground arrangements, and centered tabletop arrangement complimented by bud cases on either side. [/field]

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]One of the most beloved uses of the venue mural was in design of the gorgeous three-tier wedding cake. Hand made sugar flowers and berries, echoing the real florals used throughout the wedding day, adored each layer. It was hand-painted to include the mural scene, complete with the sweet little bird represented in both pieces of artwork. The bride asked Lisa of Alewa to surprise her with the design, and simply said she wanted it to have a fine-art feel and to feel cohesive with the overall wedding design. When the bride saw it for the first time on her wedding day, she was moved to tears! The roasted strawberry and white chocolate yuzu ganache cake was as delicious as it was beautiful. [/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Escort Display: As guests meandered through the gardens and made their way to the intimate reception, set under wisteria vines on the terrace, they made their way to the most beautiful escort display designating their seat assignment. With calligraphy by the bride, wax seal accents featuring the couples initials, the custom sign once again incorporated the mural venue as a backdrop. [/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #2″]The cake, it was so magnificent! Please see cake description above. [/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #3″]The invitation suite and paper products for this day are especially significant because the bride, who works in the tech industry, also happens to be incredibly talented and crafty. She designed and made her own invitations, complete with a custom envelop liner to reflect the beautiful mural from the venue. She and the groom wrote letters to each other, and she also did the calligraphy on the escort display and individual name cards featured at each guests table setting. She wanted the paper products to reflect the same soft, fine-art feel as the rest of the wedding design, setting the stage for the event the moment her guests received them. [/field]
