[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Nora and Benjamin wanted a very romantic and relaxed wedding day. This nature-inspired design honored Earth Day with a focus on bringing the outdoors in. [/field]

[field title=”Proposal Story”]Benjamin secretly asked Nora’s co-workers to get her off work early. When Nora arrived home, Benjamin asked Nora if she wanted to get dressed up and go out to dinner. As Nora was walking to the car, her mom stopped her and told her that she wanted to show her something around the house. As Nora walked around the house, Benjamin was standing there waiting to propose. To celebrate, they headed to one of their favorite restaurants in Annapolis where they are wine club members, Cooper’s Hawk. Nora was definitely surprised as she thought he was going to propose the next day instead when family was in town. [/field]

[section title=”The Fashion”]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]Nora bought her dress from a local boutique in Baltimore called Francesca’s Bridal. Even though Nora wanted the wedding day filled with very minimal florals and lots of greenery, the dress she was drawn to had monochromatic touches of little flowers. She ended up selecting the Nala dress by Enzoani. She also surprised Benjamin by making him a custom tie with the same pattern from her dress. She made the tie herself with a little assistance from her grandmother who is a very talented seamstress. [/field]

[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Since their brothers were their “man” of honor and best men, they decided on matching suits from Jos A. Bank. In order to have a slight difference, Nora’s brother wore a blue tie and Benjamin’s brother wore a green tie. [/field]

[section title=”The Details”]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]With a lot of guests coming from out of town, they wanted to share a little Maryland flare with mini crab cakes during cocktail hour. They also passed chicken piccata bites, sweet & spicy cauliflower bites and house made brick oven pizza. For their signature cocktail, they selected a refreshing blueberry lemonade crush. The main highlight of the evening, though, was the famous spring pea salad from Linwoods that everyone was raving about! [/field]

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]It has always been Nora’s dream to get married outside, and Benjamin has always wanted to get married in a church where his brother could marry them. LynnAaron of Nouvelle Weddings gave them the best of both worlds! She proposed creating a double arch to signify walking into a “special place,” to take place in the gardens of the venue. It unfortunately rained on their wedding day (seems appropriate since it was Earth Day), so they ended up getting married inside, but the double floral archway filled the space beautifully. And with the greenery-laden chandeliers, spiral staircase, and floral corners, it truly felt like we brought the outside in, and it might have been even better than plan A. [/field]

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Nora and Benjamin love sweets but not cake, so they opted for mini desserts instead. They offered guests a dessert buffet full of decadent sweets like Pecan Diamonds, S’more Squares, Raspberry Cheese Cake and Blue & Green French Macarons.[/field]

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Nora walked down the aisle to a very traditional song called Nocturne from o.9 No.2 for Piano by Chopin. They ended the night dancing to Love You Anyway by Luke Combs in their reception space as a private moment to soak it all in one last time! [/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]In selecting their wedding date, having the wedding on Earth Day was an option and that made Nora very excited. She is a big advocate for the planet and keeping it clean! In regards to her invitations and paper goods, she wanted to make sure the paper was either recycled or kept to a minimum. In talking with LynnAaron at Nouvelle, they discovered paper that could be planted to make wildflowers. Megan from Ruby the Fox sourced planted paper and letter pressed their invites in a beautiful dusty blue. With the wildflower seeds peeking through, the suite has an organic-inspired elegance that is both unique and meaningful to the couple. They also used that paper again for a lot of the day-of details, including the table numbers and menus. Nora is planning on planting all of the RSVP responses at their house to remember their loved ones and special day by. [/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #2″]A big shared hobby in Nora and Benjamin’s relationship is crocheting. When they met, Nora didn’t know how to crochet but in the time they spent together, Benjamin taught her how to do it. Knowing they loved plants and crocheting, LynnAaron with Nouvelle suggested they create mini plants and pots to display with their seating chart at the wedding. So the months leading up the wedding, they ended up crocheting about 10 mini plants and pots. Nora’s mother also loves crocheting and she made the white floral ring bearer pillows to tie it all together. [/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #3″]Another special detail was Nora’s custom Vans! When Nora’s cousin received the invitation in the mail and saw the pattern on the envelope, she knew what she was gifting Nora for her wedding. Nora LOVES Vans so her cousin knew this would be a perfect gift that she could not only wear for her wedding but after as well! Her cousin got custom white hightop Vans made with the design from her wedding envelope liner on them in the beautiful dusty blue so it would pop. They were perfect for Nora to wear on the dance floor! [/field]
