The wedding colors were green, black and gold.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]We both love modern decor, however we didn’t want to go overboard with that and take away from the beautiful venue. Because of that we incorporated a lot of organic elements like natural wood chairs and tables for both the ceremony and reception that were highlighted by beautiful lush greenery we brought in to compliment the tropical surroundings.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]Our story began exchanging messages on a dating app that quickly led to a first date. We both quickly knew that this time, something was different. They always say “when you know, you know” and that was absolutely the case for the both of us. Killian proposed to Mike during the firework celebration on the Fourth of July while vacationing in a Minnesota river town 3 years later.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Suits”]We wore custom green suits from a suit shop in Phoenix, that had a tapered leg to highlight our velvet Christian Louboutin black loafers. In addition, the wedding party wore black dresses and suits, while our officiant stood out in a white pantsuit.[/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]One of our favorite parts of the day was seeing our custom cocktails sign on the living bar, which was two illustrated pictures of our dogs at home we wished to be a part of our day. We had fun making these drinks with our bartending service and the two cocktails were replicas of some of our favorite flavor profiles![/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]To continue our modern Hawaiian theme, we used primarily native tropical greens. The Bird of Paradise is actually one of our favorite plants so we of course had to incorporate that in our table centerpieces as well as the wedding party’s boutonnieres and bouquets. In addition, we wanted to add some color to our landscape so had our florist add pops of coral and orange to warm up our guest table centerpieces. Flowers were a huge part of our wedding, and one of our biggest costs, but we personally believe they were worth every penny and truly made our wedding what it was. Since the beginning of planning we desired to have an elevated centerpiece over the wedding party table but being on the breezy Maui coast posed a difficult challenge to our design. We ended up having a metal wires attached to property trees to suspend our floating center piece and it turned out absolutely beautiful![/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]We surprised our guests with an aerial performer during the cocktail hour that had everyone’s attention! She did a few dances to some of our favorite songs – she was the perfect touch to giving the “wow” factor! [/field]
