A Colorful Spring Garden Wedding in California
The Planning
Design / Vibe / Vision
The couples vision was colorful and soft creating a romantic atmosphere. They wanted their guests to feel like they were walking into a garden with gorgeous spring blooms and soft colors. So we created the perfect spring, garden day and gave them an elegant and timeless wedding.
Proposal Story
The morning of December 24th 2019 we celebrated Christmas Eve morning by going out to our very favorite breakfast spot, to share mimosas and be festive. After breakfast we decided to grab hot chocolates & walk through the shops in Old Sacramento. We ended up walking towards DOCO and right as we were under the copper arch (The exact spot we first saw each other) Chris proposed! It was perfect!! I had absolutely no clue that he was going to propose and was completely shocked! Afterwards we went and celebrated with cocktails.
Getting proposed to on Christmas Eve was so special because we were able to celebrate with all of our family that evening & into the next day. Christmas Eve will forever be extra special from here on out!

Groomsman Attire
Classic black suit with white shirt to compliment the romantic wedding dress of Maddy. Chris decided he also wanted an attire change and surprised the guests with a traditional white dinner jacket. It was the perfect statement for the groom and matched his already chic style.

The Details
Food & Drink
Maddy and Chris wanted to make sure their wedding food was an elevated experience and that their guests did not go hungry. Keeping in the theme with Maddy and Chris’ personal touches the appetizers were his and hers favorites. Farm To Table put together the most elegant display of appetizers with tomato soup and grilled cheese, and the most delicious sliders. For dinner the bride and groom chose family style dinner. This was the perfect way to have the guests interact while they are at the table and feel at home.
Florals & Decor
The Maples offers multiple locations for different parts of the wedding and Maddy and Chris wanted to encourage the guests to explore and see the gorgeous property. We placed lounge furniture throughout and had different activities like an interactive guestbook, and bucket list cards for guests to fill out. Large interactive signage greets guests throughout also. The seating display was attention grabbing that guests wanted to look at all the tables not just for their names. Disposable camera display encouraged the guests to take lots of pictures! Everything was centered around lush garden flowers.
Wedding Cake
Palette Cakes created custom sugar flowers that matched the florals in the bridal bouquet. She also created mini cakes to go on the seating chart, as the couple love cake.
Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs
Grandpa was their officiant which was so cute and heart warming.
Special Detail #1
Instead of going for a traditional wedding morning and day Maddy + Chris decided to spend the morning together and help each other get dressed. Chris helped Maddy get into her dress while Maddy helped Chris get ready(tie bow tie, get jacket on, etc.). This was such a fun time for the two of them and maximized their time spent throughout the entire day.
Special Detail #2
Late night snack! Who doesn’t love a good alternative night snack to top off all they dancing they are doing?! Maddy + Chris definitely do as late night snacks are one of their favorite activities at weddings. So we brought in In and Out cheeseburgers along with piping hot pizza. The guests were absolutely thrilled and did not hesitate to dig in.
Special Detail #3
Once in a while, we come across a special bride whose wedding holds a special place in our hearts. Maddy and Chris are one such couple, and their wedding at The Maples was nothing short of magical. What made our wedding planning experience with them more special was the fact that her sister was a past Curated by Grace and White bride.
Their wedding day started of with them simply enjoying the day together. They drank champagne and helped each other get into their wedding attire. Maddy and Chris’s wedding day fashion was trendy-chic. The bride’s ceremony bridal gown was elegant, but what really caught our attention was her floral 3d floral veil that added an extra touch of sophistication to her bridal look. For the reception, she wore a stunning Grace and White Bridal beaded wedding dress that took our breath away. Chris also had an outfit change and changed into a white dinner coat for the reception.
The reception itself was filled with unique elements. The guest seating chart was a beautiful display that everyone enjoyed. We designed two beautiful wedding lounge sets that provided the perfect place for guests to relax and soak in the ambiance. Maddy and Chris wanted to take a unique approach to their wedding day and did that by having a fun grand entrance into cocktail hour, rather than the traditional dinner entrance. The spring flowers were a beautiful touch, with soft dusty blues, creams, and blush adding a soft colorful palette to the wedding. The balloon garland was a fun, lively addition to the festivities, and it was apparent that the overall intent was to pull off an unforgettable experience.
