A Lovely Laguna Beach Wedding With Guest Experience Leading The Design

The Planning
Design / Vibe / Vision

Kate was definitely drawn to a more neutral inspired color palette with crisp whites, ivory, muted blush pink and taupe tones to complement the venue's beautiful rolling green hills. For Kate, her priority was making sure that the guests had fun. Each decision was truly centered around the overall guest experience in which started with choosing the venue. They wanted a venue that would accommodate the out-of-town guests, and that was near the beach. From the beautiful venue to the incredible food, the custom Studio Restore signage, and the Tipsy Twins Photobooth interactive photobooth.

Proposal Story
During Christmas, Kate had a tradition with her nephew to make and decorate cookies. Elliot knew how special this tradition was for Kate, so he decided to bake his own cookies for her to find. He baked cookies spelling out “Will you marry me?” so that when she opened the oven, she found the cookies there. She had the suspicion that something was up, so Elliot had friends take Kate out to lunch to throw her off. He proposed with her family there, which made it extra special for Kate.
The Fashion
Wedding Gown

Kate wore the Badgley Mischka- Frankie dress without the sleeves. She got it from Mari Me Bridal in Philadelphia.

Bridesmaid Dresses

The bridesmaids got their dresses from SHow Me Your Mumu. The Kate chose the champagne color and gave them options of dresses she preferred, the bridesmaids were able to choose from their favorites from the bride’s choice.

The Details
Food & Drink
Guests were able to enjoy some champagne as they arrived. During cocktail hour, the bar served a mixture of wine, beer, and spirits, along with the couple’s signature drinks. Elliot’s signature cocktail was an Old Fashioned, and Kate’s was a Strawberry Moscow Mule. Clementine (their maltipoo) even had her own signature drink, which was an Aerosol Spritz.
Florals & Decor
Kate wanted the florals to have neutral colors with a lot of greenery. She felt comfortable giving her florist Alex those directions and allowing Alex to decide what would come together for the best look. Alex then created a beautiful ceremony arch, Kate’s bouquet, the bridesmaid’s bouquets, and the rest of the decorations for the day.
Wedding Cake

Kate and Elliot chose a vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream made by SusieCakes, decorated with beautiful flowers used throughout the day.

Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs

During the ceremony, they had a string quartet by Angelica Strings, playing some beautiful traditional and contemporary songs for the guests to enjoy.

Special Detail #1
Their Maltipoo, Clementine, got to show up for a little bit just in time for some portraits with Mom and Dad.
Special Detail #2
The couple wanted to surprise their guests with a live painter during dinner. Agnes worked on a beautiful painting of the couple walking out of their ceremony.
Special Detail #3
The couple chose to write their vows to each other. However, instead of reading them during the ceremony, they chose to have a private moment during their first look, where they read their vows to each other. It was such a special, tearful moment between the two of them.
