We got engaged around the time Bridgerton came out on Netflix, and I fell in love with the aesthetics. Inspired by the show, I incorporated different pastel colors into the wedding, especially in the flowers, which were filled with blues, purples and pinks. The wedding was at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, so this color palette made the Palm House feel vibrant and fresh, especially on an August summer evening. The vibe was English garden party meets New York City. To complement the color palette, the bridesmaids wore pastel pink satin gowns from Fame And Partners, matching the Black Tie optional attire.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]We met on the dating app, Bumble. He had his favorite musicians displayed on his profile. John Mayer being one of them, so we instantly bonded over that. After exchanging a few messages, we quickly planned to meet at a wine bar in the West Village. Upon first meeting, I fell on my face getting out of my Uber, and we shared a good laugh. The rest was history.

After dating for three years, we got engaged in Tulum, Mexico. Dan popped the question the first day on the beach, and then we spent the rest of the trip celebrating with tacos and margaritas.

The dress I chose was the very first dress I looked at and tried on. It was a Berta Privee gown that was complete with floral appliques and feathers. I had never seen a dress like it before and loved how romantic, fun and unique it was. I ended up incorporating feathers into most of my bridal looks, including my after party dress, my getting ready pajamas and my bachelorette dress. Everything looks better with feathers.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]Some of my favorite hor d’oeuvres included mini lobster rolls, oyster and crab cakes. The meal started with Prosciutto San Daniele, a garden salad, and then a choice of organic chicken, filet mignon or halibut. And, pizza for a late night snack. [/field]

We fell in love with the Palm House at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and how it felt like you were in a glass bubble in the middle of acres of greenery and flowers. We loved how guests would be surrounded by nature and beautiful scenery, but would still get to experience the place we called home—New York City. The ceremony was at the Cherry Esplanade, a broad green lawn surrounded by tall, oak trees. I couldn’t imagine a more special place. My flowers were filled with blues, purples and pinks- beautifully designed by Yellow Bow Florals.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Our cake was vanilla chocolate mousse flavor and was the menu highlight if you ask me. I loved it so much that I spoon fed it to my closest friends and family members after trying it. [Karina Mekel, our photographer, has proof of this!] I had the leftovers of it the very next day on the way to the airport to our honeymoon.

I loved our custom cake topper with us and Charlie. It’s a really fun keepsake that we’ll have forever in our home.[/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]A few nights before the wedding, we were finalizing some last minute details with our band leader, Artie, and I told him how much I loved the song, Shallow by Lady Gaga. He ended up putting together an epic remix featuring a sax prologue and played it as we entered the reception for the first time as husband and wife. He played the song a few more times throughout the night, and I may have stolen the mic for a few times to sing it.[/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #2″]My after party dress, that was complete with sequins and feathers! Changing into the second dress made for such a fun moment, and some of my favorite photos from the night. While I was getting changed into the second dress, Amy (my coordinator) asked if we should make it a moment. She ended up playing “Dancing Queen by Abba” as I entered in with my second dress. It was so fun. [/field]
