Niki envisioned a pastel-themed wedding, incorporating colors and shades of lavender, yellow, blue, blush, sage green, champagne, and creams. However, for the ceremony, we kept the design pure white with a touch of greenery.

Brittland Estates is a beautiful venue set on the Chester River in Maryland. With a waterfront ceremony, cocktail hour around the pool, and then a sailcloth tented reception with the water in the background, an elevated pastel garden party theme was perfect for the locale and spring season.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]While students studying at Ole Miss, Niki and Zach met while both working at an Italian restaurant on the Square called Old Venice. It is here they both gained a little more than just some extra college spending money!
After dating for about a year, Niki moved to Alexandria, Virginia following graduation to start a new job. Niki and Zach were long distance for about a year an a half visiting each other every month until Zach pulled the trigger to move to the big city! Niki and Zach moved into an apartment in the city together with their two dogs, Presley and Maggie & the rest is history![/field]

[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]For cocktail hour, Niki and Zach chose summer-y and southern items, like Chicken and Biscuits, Shrimp Tacos, Oyster Rockefeller, and Mac and Cheese Lollipops. Their signature drinks were a spicy blood orange margarita and old fashioned. Servers used tea towels with the couple’s crest to showcase the passed hors d’ourves. A statement bar at cocktail hour also featured the crest with the couple’s two dogs on the front.
For dinner, guests chose between delectable short ribs and lemon salmon.
Late night snacks included espresso martinis and pizza – as a nod to how the couple met![/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]For Niki’s bouquet, she had an all-white bouquet, while her bridesmaids carried petite bouquets of pastel shades. The groomsmen bouttoneires also mimiced the bridesmaid bouquet’s with various pops of pastels, while the groom’s was white.
The ceremony featured all white florals lush with hydrangeas and roses.
While for the reception, pastel florals used included ranunculus, butterfly ranunculus, spray roses., roses, hydrangea, delphinium, scabiosa, and stock.
The head table featured tall arrangements, and the guest tables had low compote designs and bud vases with candles.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The 5 tier wedding cake was simple in design, but featured a cascade of blooms trailing down it. Guests were served almond cake with raspberry jam and vanilla buttercream.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]A cello and violinist performed songs for guests during the ceremony and cocktail hour.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]All of the stationery was custom watercolor design by chez la mariee. The couple’s crest featuring their two dogs was used on the invitation, bar, server tea towels, frosted cups, and other variations of it on the menus and table numbers.
The menus were also fun, with watercolor pictures of the menu food and customized with each guest’s name.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]The bride was driven to the ceremony in a vintage rolls royce, and a petal toss afterwards provided the photo-perfect moment![/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]A champagne tower was a fun moment for the couple, with the perfect night sky behind them.[/field]
