The Planning

Design / Vibe / Vision

The vibe of this wedding was classic colonial with simple but elegant touches. The couple went with natural tones such as deep natural greens and simple white for their flowers and reception details, which allowed both the venue and the fife and drum to steal the show on the way to cocktail hour and through the evening. The bride grew up in Williamsburg and went to William and Mary, so she was excited to showcase the Inn and colonial traditions of Williamsburg.

Proposal Story

The bride is an avid runner, and during a run through Washington DC, he dropped down on one knee and proposed to her along the reflecting pool at Lincoln Memorial. This is later where they had their engagement session!

Passed Hors d ‘Oeuvres included Brie Tartlet, Crab Cake, Tuna Tartar Dinner first course was Petite Chevre Cheese Pave, Lavash Cracker, Marinated Cucumbers and Tomato, Regency Dressing (add seasonal berries) Dinner entree was Main Course – Filet of Beef and Halibut | Roasted Garlic Whipped Potatoes, Pan Roasted Seasonal Vegetables, Preserved Lemon Relish, Veal jus

Florals & Decor

Florals were primarily white roses with design by Loluma.

Wedding Cake

The cake was a multiple-tier cake made by Williamsburg Inn decorated with roses.

Ceremony music was a a string quartet by Col Vita Music Studio & Strings.
