[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]We wanted a true garden inspired Spring wedding in a place that was special and meaningful to the couple. . As kids, both Mary Grayson and Russell spent their summers on Lake Martin with their respective families, so when it was time to pick a wedding location, Lake Martin was number one on the list. SpringHouse and The Stables at Russell Lands provided a stunning backdrop to their lovely day. Planned by Lauren Phillips of Whitney Bowman Events, the vision came to life with the help of an incredible vendor team.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]About a year after they met, Russell asked Mary Grayson out on their first date – right before the Pandemic hit. Since they lived down the street from each other and everything was on lock down, they spent a lot of time together during those months! It didn’t take long for them to make it “official.” About a year later Russell proposed. He knew Mary Grayson wouldn’t like something over-the-top, so he kept it simple. One evening, after returning from teaching yoga, Russell got down on one knee and asked Mary Grayson to spend the rest of her life with him. Of course she said yes! [/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]Mary Grayson left most of the planning up to her wedding planner sister, Lauren, telling her she only cared about a few things – and at the top of the list was the dress. Mary Grayson, Lauren and their mother made their way to Mandi Jackson Bridal in Atlanta and fell in love with the very first gown she tried on – a beautiful Oscar de la Renta. Entitled “Fern,” the dress features cut out lace fern embroidery, a chapel length train and sweetheart neckline. Mary Grayson stunned in the hi-low dress, with a natural and effortless hair and makeup look by the lovely Claire Balest team.[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]The Mother and Sister of the Bride wore custom gowns from Nardos Design. The flower girls wore custom dresses made from the lace of the bride’s High School graduation dress.[/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]SpringHouse on Lake Martin was the perfect dinner location. Guests were greeted with an array of passed hors d’oeuvres and champagne upon arrival after the ceremony. For dinner, guests enjoyed a prime rib and roasted chicken paired with au gratin potatoes, grilled asparagus and summer vegetables. Southern style grits were also served as an ode to the brides Grandmother.
Guests danced the night away on the dance floor while enjoying a late night snack of cookies and milk and dill pickle chips, favorite snacks of the Bride and Groom.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The floral team, Colby West Design, lined the ceremony aisles with his signature organic and free-flowing blooms. He and his team foraged through the local woods of Lake Martin to find the prefect greenery to add to the lush ceremony arch. Following the ceremony, guests walked over to enjoy a delicious dinner inside and on the lawn of SpringHouse. Colorful spring blooms with neutral linens, copper chargers, and bone flatware greeted the guests as they found their tables. The linens were provided by LaTovola, including the custom linen for the custom 14 foot round Head Table built for the event. Loly of Little Postage House, who designed all of the paper goods, created luxurious letterpressed menus with custom wax seals atop each place setting.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The wedding cake, a delicious vanilla cake with colorful buttercream flowers, was set in front of the stone fireplace complete with a garden of greenery and florals growing up the stone, creating a stunning floral moment.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]With the brides bother-in-law officiating, the ceremony took place atop a hill next to Springhouse, offering a scenic view. The wedding party consisted of the bride and groom’s siblings and nieces and nephews. Mary Grayson walked down the aisle to The Young Fables playing an instrumental rendition of the Elvis’ classic “Can’t Help Falling In Love.” The nephews of the groom read passages from the New Testament. [field title=”Special Detail #1″]After dinner, guests hopped in golf carts and made their way down to the tented reception next to the horse stables. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room as the Father of the Bride toasted the newly married couple as well as Cleveland, the bride’s beloved yellow lab, who suddenly passed away a week or so before the wedding. Mary Grayson was grateful to have a little nod to Cleveland with linen napkins and stir sticks featuring watercolor portraits of her pets.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]At the end of the night, Mary Grayson and Russell exited to a sea of Auburn shakers, their alma matter and favorite team.[/field]
