[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The overall vision for the celebration at Stanly Ranch Napa was to enhance what Stanly already has in place. They have both modern structure and organic flow in their designs. The natural elements were captured in small vignettes as well as in the larger-scale installations for the ceremony and above the stage. Incorporating the clean and modern lines of the venue, contemporary design elements were added throughout the decor. We started with our lightest elements at the ceremony and transitioned to our more moody, formal textures and colors at the reception.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Mimi and Steve both worked at the same company, so one day, feeling confident, Steve approached Mimi at an office happy hour and introduced himself. However, not wanting to jeopardize their careers, Mimi and Steve opted for the classic “just friends” title. That quickly turned into “best friends.” Mimi and Steve found themselves talking constantly, cheering each other on at work, and sneaking away to Local Edition, a favorite spot. Steve gave Mimi lessons on Bay Area sports (Go Warriors!), and they both shared their love of wine and celebrations with family and friends. Mimi and Steve became an inseparable pair and made their relationship official in July 2018. Over the course of 3 1/2 years, life included gatherings with friends and family, getaway trips around the world, and pounds and pounds of Italian food consumed and wine enjoyed. Steve and Mimi knew they wanted to commit their lives to each other forever. With that, Steve secretly arranged his proposal to Mimi at their favorite Napa Valley winery, Saintsbury. On February 25th, amidst the backdrop of a beautiful vineyard, Steve and Mimi became engaged. This was a day they would hold in their hearts forever.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]

Stanly Ranch Napa has amazing food and wine that was highlighted throughout the wedding. Steve’s Italian background was the foundation on which the menu was built. Appetizers included focaccia with castelvetrano olives, preserved tomato, and olive oil. They also started everyone with a house-made Caesar that included crispy pancetta and brioche croutons; for the entrees, guests chose either a Hawaiian Themed Grilled Mahi Mahi with coconut sticky rice or Beef Tenderloin with Yukon Potatoes and horseradish. Local wines flowed all night, including some from the winery where they were engaged, Saintsbury. Also, the signature drinks, Mimi’s skinny Margarita and Steve’s Old Fashioned, were a hit.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Our goal with the florals was to tell a light-to-dark color story with cohesive design futures tying it all together. The large arbor piece by Vignette really started the wedding off with a classic but modern white and green backdrop. After heading to the cocktail hour, guests had the option to relax at a few lounges by Found Rental Co. or head to the wood and black double bar. The bar was key in transitioning the event from light/day to darker evening colors. Once inside for dinner the chic, clean table and chairs from Found Rental Co were in perfect contrast with the Vignette Floral Design really captured what we were going for. Theoni’s tabletop helped bring out the color we wanted in the florals as well. Finally, the band was highlighted with a structure from The Vessel Rental Co that created the perfect frame with all the color and texture.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]One of the first things Mimi mentioned about her wedding was that she wanted to recreate the cake of her parents wedding. Mimi lost her mom a few years ago and thought this would be the perfect way to bring her mother into the planning and as a feature on her wedding day. Using an old photo as reference Ora Beth of Flour and Bloom recreated the 4 tier cake, bringing the 80’s style into 2023. The cake was the same flavor as it was for her parents: champagne with strawberries. She even took the same photo as her mom with her dad and grandpa kissing each cheek after the cake was cut![/field]

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Mimi and Steve both had close members of their family pass away in the past few years with Mimi losing her mother and Steve losing his brother. They were both remembered during the ceremony and mentioned throughout the evening. [/field]
