A Classic Affair on the Coast at the Lodge at Torrey Pines

The Planning
Design / Vibe / Vision
We wanted to design our wedding theme around where our venue was located - southern California. Given we got married at a beautiful venue overlooking the Pacific Ocean, we went for a coastal, classic outdoor experience.
Proposal Story
My husband, with help from my best friend who also happens to be married to his best friend, proposed in one of our favorite beachside destinations, Kiawah Island, South Carolina. We were posing for our annual couples photo outside of the Ryder Cup Bar overlooking the 18th green on The Ocean Course. After a few photos, he turned to me and got down on one knee and accidentally dropped the ring when he opened the box upside down!
The Fashion
Wedding Gown
Ceremony gown: Reem Acra I saw a photo of my wedding gown on Instagram and I immediately fell in love with it. I went down a rabbit hole to figure out the name of the dress and searched to see if it was still available. Fortunately, I was able to find a floor sample in my size at a boutique in Chicago, so I flew there to try it on and ended up flying back home with it the same day. It was fate. Reception jumpsuit: Rime Arodaky Patsy Jumpsuit Given I decided to go for a princess-style gown for the ceremony, I knew I wanted something fun and free to dance the night away in and the Rime Arodaky Patsy jumpsuit fit the bill perfectly!
Bridesmaid Dresses
My nine beautiful bridesmaids all wore different variations of Jenny Yoo dresses in the color Whisked Apricot.
Groomsman Attire
Vendor: The Black Tux My husband and his ten groomsmen wore matching black tuxedos from The Black Tux.
The Details
Food & Drink
Our venue, The Lodge at Torrey Pines, provided the most phenomenal dinner, hors d'oeuvres, and drinks! During cocktail hour, everyone sampled tasty tray-passed hors d'oeuvres. Dinner featured crab cakes, watermelon salad, grilled filet mignon, and roasted sea bass. We had a fun champagne wall so that everyone could grab a glass before the ceremony. Afterwards, we had an open bar with his and hers cocktails, including a John Daly and a Spicy Marg.
Florals & Decor
Florals: Parker and Posies Parker and Posies designed the most beautiful floral arrangements filled with a mixture of white roses, white hydrangeas, and lots of greenery, which overflowed out of both tall and short glass vases filled.
Wedding Cake
Cake: Sweet Cheeks Baking Co. Early in our relationship, my husband decided to nickname me ‘Hot Cheeks’, so when I saw Sweet Cheeks Baking Co. on the list of recommended vendors, I immediately knew that I wanted to work with them on our cake. They designed a classic, white four-tiered cake of my dreams, and it tasted even better than it looked.
