[field title=”Proposal Story”]
Brittany and Scott’s love story began at a local Ottawa restaurant, where they worked together. Scott held the position of Sous Chef, while Brittany served while pursuing her studies at University. Their friendship blossomed throughout the summer and fall, eventually leading to a romantic relationship the following year. From that moment forward, their story became one of cherished memories. Amidst the thick of the pandemic in May 2020, Scott planned a truly special proposal. With everything shut down, he decided to create a memorable experience within the comfort of their shared condo. Scott prepared a delectable, fancy dinner, and as the meal came to a close, he presented a dessert plate adorned with a sweet message: “Will you marry me,” written in delectable chocolate. It was an intimate moment, shared only by the two of them and their beloved dog, Lenny. The proposal encapsulated the perfect blend of romance and togetherness.

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]
Brittany wore a customized Gala by Galia Lahav gown with an a-line silhouette, illusion sweetheart neckline, and beaded lace. She paired her gown with a traditional Vera Wang cathedral-length veil, embroidered with the same lace as her gown. Brittany said, “I always knew I wanted a lace, a-line gown with a long train to complement my ceremony at the Cathedral and reception at the Chateau Laurier. I always dreamed of my dress and veil trailing far behind me as I walked down the aisle.” With a nod to her love of designer fashion, she paired her dress with blue sling-back Manolo Blahniks and a light blue Miu Miu evening bag.

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]
To compliment the blue, white, and gold color palate of the wedding, the bridesmaids wore dusty blue, floor-length dresses in the style of their choice, while the maid of honor wore a Marchesa Notte blue floral print chiffon gown. All of the dresses went beautifully together while still allowing everyone to feel comfortable and confident in their own style.

The groom wore a classic midnight blue tuxedo with black satin lapels, and a black bowtie from Indochino. He paired it with black patent dress shoes and custom cufflinks engraved with a sketch of their dog Lenny. Brittany said, “Scott wanted a classic look to match the more formal vibe of our wedding. He loved the tux from the James Bond movie ‘Casino Royale’ – what guy doesn’t want to feel as cool as James Bond on his wedding day??” The groomsmen complimented the groom’s attire in dark blue tuxedos with black accessories.

In addition to the captivating visual elements of decor and floral arrangements, the meticulous attention to detail and thoughtful planning extended far beyond. The groom, who happened to be a skilled chef, personally curated a meticulously crafted menu to enhance the evening’s Italian theme. The selection included exquisite wines, signature cocktails inspired by their beloved pup “Lenny,” luscious gold-flecked sorbets, and tantalizing pasta presentations that left taste buds in awe. Each culinary choice was carefully chosen to perfectly complement the overall ambiance of the event and ensure an unforgettable dining experience.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]
Brittany collaborated tirelessly with her planner (Toast Events) and Pollen Nation to carefully select the precise floral ingredients for her arrangements, aiming for an abundant display of delicate, lace-like textured blooms. Her vision encompassed an array of Queen Anne’s Lace, Astilbe, Heather, and freshly cut Savila Lace Hydrangeas. These unique flowers were not readily available from flower farms, so they were skillfully foraged from gardens, adding a touch of exclusivity to the arrangements. The resulting designs featured fluffy, airy compositions that resembled the organic act of strolling through one’s own garden and hand-picking blooms, foliage, and vines along the way. It was a beautiful amalgamation of seasonal flowers, deliberately crafted to capture a perfectly imperfect aesthetic.
