The colors were pinks, golds, and greens with pops of basketball “orange.” The bridal party was instructed to dress in tones of a sunset.

The vibe was definitely a party. Elegant FUN! Lots of nods to Kelly’s basketball career and their love of all things food.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]
About the couple… Kelly Olynyk is going into his 10th year in the NBA, playing currently on the Detroit Pistons (#13/Center). Jackie is the director of Accounting at Spy Cloud. Kelly and Jackie met when they went to Gonzaga College together, and we both majored in Accounting. At the time of their wedding, they’d been together nearly five years. They knew each other was the one because, in Jackie’s words, “It just felt really obvious. It just felt right. Very natural with a lot of signs from the universe that we were meant to be with each other”.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]
From the Bride and Groom… “This is really important to us because we’re huge foodies. For the rehearsal dinner, we have really good friends’ underground supper club catering our dinner. They’re based out of Venice Beach, CA called Food Shop and it’s the best food we’ve ever eaten and is an unbelievable setting an atmosphere and everyone should know about this who lives in LA. For day off, we’ve flown out the chefs from Kelly’s favorite sushi restaurant in Boston to cater the entire cocktail hour. Everyone who knows Kelly understands that Sushi is his absolute favorite food so we had to incorporate that into our wedding day menu. For dinner service, we’ve hired Field To Table Events who is local to the area and using all local produce and ingredients for a family style meal which felt more personal to us. Jackie and I eat at entirely different quantities. I can eat 7 plates and she eats 1/3rd of a plate so we wanted people to serve themselves based on how much they wanted to eat! That was important to us. It keeps everyone talking and getting to know each other. Jackie is a huge cocktail lover and created some specialty cocktails for each part of the day. For desserts, neither of us like cake so we decided to have a huge arrangement of desserts like cookies, and macaroons and assorted pastries and we’re most excited for the metallic dipped strawberries. We’ll be ending the night with a couple food trucks with wood fire pizza, burgers and fries along with shave ice, a popcorn stand, and a rose and craft beer cart.”

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The florals were elegant and neutral bringing in the golds and pinks from the theme.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]
The cake was simple and white with a figurine of the couple’s pup on top featured on a dessert table of goodies like gold dusted chocolate covered strawberries, cookies and an espresso martini station.

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]
From the bride… “There are a lot of fun puns throughout the wedding day with a nod to Kelly’s NBA career. We have a “Shot Clock” timer that counts down the seconds until the entire wedding takes a shot. Our invitations were “tickets” to the big event. We LOVE games, so we have a lot of activities for our guests like a scavenger hunt, mini-basketball hoops, casino tables like poker and craps where guests can win custom casino chips by making an impromptu speech, or dancing the hardest, win prizes like wedding swag or snacks or shots at the gift table”.
