Antique Blue Summer Wedding at Modern Oklahoma Ranch
Blair Sims Events created an airy, garden-inspired summer wedding with gorgeous shades of blue. The chinoiserie touches added a perfect timeless accent to the whole look. She also combined shades of blue to create depth and dimension in the ceremony and reception spaces. An abundance of heavy candles was also important to create romantic lighting well into the night.
Grace wore a gorgeous form-fitting satin Pronovias gown with a stunning statement bow in the back. The dress was selected from Patsy's Bridal in Dallas, TX, and could not have been more perfect for her day.
Grace and Corbin wanted casual light bites that allowed people to mix and mingle without putting a focus on formal dining. The menu included a peach caprese salad and crab cakes as appetizers. For the dinner portion, short rib, mashed potatoes with grilled vegetables were served. The couples specialty cocktails included a whisky and sprite for the Mr., and vodka, and lime juice with lavender simple syrup for the Mrs. They also offered a Metz margarita for guests to enjoy that served as an ode to their new shared last name.
Aligned with the color palette of antique blues and whites, Kelly, with Poppy Lane Design created beautiful floral arrangements for Grace and Corbin's special day. Stunning blue delphinium and anemones were used along with white garden roses, white garden spray roses, and fresh southern smilax. Fluffy blue and white hydrangeas were also interspersed throughout.
Brown Egg Bakery built a six-tiered light blue chantilly cake with fresh berries and vanilla mousse. Grace wanted an ethereal, garden design which they brought to life with the wafer paper florals displayed on the cake. Deconstructed key lime pie jars served as the groom's cake and were a big hit amongst all the guests. Custom to-go cake boxes that read "cake for breakfast" were also handed out to guests to take as they left. We thought this was such a unique and thoughtful detail.
