La Vie en Rose! I wanted everything to be pink and cheerful! I love the color pink and I feel like it worked especially well in this setting because it balanced the dark moodiness of the 14th century castle. I wanted everything to feel light, bright and whimsical. I think the bright colors made it feel more fairy castle than medieval castle.

I really took inspiration from how I wanted everyone to feel at the wedding. Relaxed, fun, whimsical, and generally transported to a magical part of the world. Everything from the invitations to the flowers reflected this.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]
Alex proposal to me in my favorite city Austin, TX. There had just been a once-in-one hundred year ice storm and we had been cooped up inside for a week. Finally the sun came out and we went on a hike. At the top of the overlook he got down on one knee. Afterwards we had a celebration with friends, celebrating the snow-apocalypse survival and our engagement.

I absolutely loved my Ines Di Santo dress, sourced at Mark Ingram Atelier in NYC. The fitted dress made me feel classy and chic, with a bit of sexy. I loved that it was covered in beautiful sparkling beadwork. The custom overskirt gave it that whimsical fairy feel for when I walked down the aisle. The beautiful embroidered Toni Federici veil was something every commented on, it was so unique and stunning.

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]I let them choose their own! As long as they were pink. I told them that I wanted them to feel beautiful, confident and sexy.[/field]

Alex and I figured that we couldn’t bring all our guests to France without giving them la crème de la crème for food! We had Potel et Chabot do the catering and it was absolutely superb. Of course, we had to have amazing wine to pair with the food. We went to La Cave in Cannes and selected incredible wines to match each dish.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]
Ame Luxury Event absolutely blew me away with the décor! There were so many beautiful pink flowers. It was truly La Vie en Rose! Apart from the flowers, all of the décor felt distinctly French, without being stuffy. La Petite Fleuriste did our flowers and they were stunning.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]
Our cake was by LB Cake design and it was so delicious! It was chocolate caramel and strawberries and cream. France truly has the best pastries.

We instantly fell in love with the work of Remi Dupac, our photographer! His work really reflects the French Riviera… laid back, relaxed, bright, and colorful. Everything has a very effortless feel. We didn’t want anything formal, we preferred candid moments to capture the raw feeling of the day. Apart from beautiful work, Remi was so wonderful to work with! You honestly spend the most time with your photographer on your wedding day, even more than the groom! From getting ready shots, to bridal portraits, it was so nice to have someone around that made Alex and I feel comfortable and relaxed. A lot of our guests commented on how cool our photographer was!

Two other things that really made our wedding special were invitations by Tiny Shindigs and our band, Your Dream Band. They were the absolute highlight of the night… so chic and stylish and the most incredible voices.
