We love a bride with a vision. This bride new exactly what she wanted for her wedding day, and with the planning and design led by Fawn Events she got even more than she ever could have dreamed of. Avant-Garde floral design by Cultivated by Faith is nothing short of exquisite, and Mallory Dawn Photography elegantly captures the love and joy of the day in her imagery. You’ll find endless inspiration inside the full gallery.
From Erica Gustlin, of Fawn Events… Carrie (the bride) came to us with a very specific design vision. Currently a graphic designer with a background in designing and coordinating events, she knew exactly what she wanted in terms of color scheme and aesthetic. Her specifics were no sparkles, lots of texture, and lots of ambient lighting, lanterns, and candles. She wanted avant-garde floral arrangements that didn’t scream traditional, but she still wanted a timeless look. She had her eye on Grand Gimeno since Jay’s Catering began renovating it, and as soon as she and Danny got engaged, they booked it right away! She loved its clean, bright vibe with modern wood touches & blue accents.
She wanted to play off of those accents as well as tie in hues of terracotta. Cultivated by Faith was the perfect floral vendor to execute this look! Her specialty is this very color palette, however, historically she aims for more bloom-heavy designs. I really wanted to incorporate the olive trees in the courtyard because they are such a focal point, so I encouraged her to add muted greenery to the arrangements in the form of olive branches, to not only add texture but tie in the design with the venue. From there, we leaned into patterned linens and a fully custom dance floor which brought in the Spanish tile-like patterns and injected blue to her creamy, terracotta backdrop. This really helped tie in the blue accents within the venue.
Given they served a buffet dinner, her tabletop was simple but modern and minimalistic, drawing in each primary color against creamy whites. Wildhouse Ink was hired to help design our signage and paper goods. For the escort wall, the phrasing “You & Me Under the Olive Trees” made sense as their sweetheart table was romantically nestled directly under the olive trees with the lanterns and ambient lighting Carrie requested, and helped tell the story the floral design started for us.
