From Penny Layne... Ashley and Jonathan's wedding weekend in Sanibel Island was the perfect getaway weekend for their closest family and friends. Jonathan and his family hail from London, and Ashley's life is in Los Angeles, California. So when they were trying to figure out the best place to tie the knot, Sanibel Island felt like the perfect fit! They had spent a lot of time there, and it was perfectly in the middle, making it a super relaxed, fun destination location for their guests.
They kicked off their weekend with Welcome Drinks at the local Sundial Resort where guests sipped cocktails and enjoyed fun bites by the water. On their wedding day, they prioritized the things that were most important to them -- good food, great cocktails, and an incredible band. The verdict was a stunning ceremony on the ocean where guests witnessed Ashley and Jonathan say "I Do" with their feet in the sand. Ashley wore the most stunning Lihi Hod dress, and we accented her look with a stunning bouquet that felt like sunshine -- couldn't think of anything more perfect for a bride this special.
We constructed a stunning floral installation in the sand, and they had a solo guitarist perform their favorite songs.
After the ceremony, guests were invited to enjoy cocktail hour on the lawn, where they sipped tropical drinks and enjoyed light bites. Their design was vibrant and of the region -- tropical, locally sourced produce, bold, colorful florals and choice blooms, and specialty signage that was coastal but never kitschy. Escort cards were dotted with foraged seashells, and the space was magical under a canopy of string lighting.
As guests made their way into the tent for the reception, they enjoyed an alfresco seafood forward menu at magical tables dressed to the nines -- gorgeous florals, aged clay pots, fresh seasonal produce, bold yellow candles, and woven chargers anchored the design while oceanic inspired menus brought the full design circle.
After dinner, guests danced the night away with the warm summer breeze and finished the night with an afterparty onsite at their iconic bar.
