From Etched Theory Planning Co.… When we first met with Helen and Adam, they were a sweet couple with a vision of an intimate wedding celebration. Their warmth and hopes for hospitality for their guests inspired us to create a natural and intimate wedding theme to reflect the breezy summers in the Bay Area. With touches of the natural vineyard views and sounds of running water around Elliston Vineyards, we added wood and rattan textures and bright, warm, peached-toned flowers to contrast with the cold tone blues that Helen had selected as her wedding colors. Accents of terracotta were added to enhance the natural color scheme and to compliment the old-world tones of Elliston Vineyard’s tasting room and bridal suite. The vineyards is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Sunol. Combining elegance and intimacy with a whimsical exterior, the big friendly ostriches greet guests next to a stunning antique manor used at the tasting room with a beautiful outdoor walkway featuring a French-style fountain. Guests drank the signature cocktail, peach bourbon smash while using the polaroid to capture their good wishes to the newlyweds while also etching memories of the small details that the couple presented to express their love towards their guests.
From the bride… For our wedding, we wanted our guests to feel appreciated and truly enjoy the day! We wanted each person to feel attended to and cared for. Our planner and coordinator, Sissi Zhao and Tammy Cheng of Etched Theory Planning Co., turned our dreams into a reality. The whole wedding was personal and meaningful to us. The space was truly transformed into our dream wedding. We were pleasantly surprised by the small details and changes to the wedding space we first toured. Many thanks to the Ciness and XX Event teams who assisted with the live streaming logistics so that our families in China were able to be a part of the wedding from the ceremony to the dinner festivities. Due to COVID-19, our families regrettably were not able to attend the US-based wedding. Inkinity Studio created a custom frame seating chart installation. We now use it as decoration in our home to preserve the precious memories with our friends throughout the evening!
We have many favorite moments, from the natural floral arrangements from Florachic. Our artistic wedding cake designed by Trizia Cake came together flawlessly with the rest of the décor and design. We were happy to share this sweet dessert with all of our close friends. Hongshen (the groom) and I were overwhelmed with joy throughout the whole day. It was everything we could have hoped for! From the flowers, cake, welcome table to the seating chart wall, reception and the chandeliers, every detail was perfectly executed. Our photographer, Studio Opia, made us feel so comfortable. They always can find the most artistic angles and views, while also taking special care to capture every detail. My makeup artist, Rachel, focuses on every detail of the wedding look. I’ve never felt more pretty and charming. She had such a large responsibility from the early hours of the morning to help me feel reassured and enjoying the morning getting ready. We genuinely felt like we were getting ready with a close friend. We were so appreciative and grateful to be able to work with such an amazing team of talented vendors! Our wedding day has been the most perfect day of our lives so far, we will continue to look back on the day with fine memories in all aspects.
