Garden Chic at The Contemporary Austin With Rattan Details
Shana and Hudson vision was to create a memorable weekend that embraced the stylish culture of Austin through great food, dynamic music, contemporary art, and gorgeous florals.
The couple wanted to showcase an elevated Texas inspired menu for both the bar cocktails and the dining experience. The talented Contigo Catering helped curate 3 cocktails; Farmarita: blanco tequila, carrot juice, lime juice, spicy simple syrup, peeled carrot, red pepper flakes a Ancho Margarita: blanco tequila, ancho chile liqueur, jalapeño, lime, spicy simple, chili-lime salted rim and a Ruby Red Rosé: ruby red, st. germain, splash of lemon, sparkling rosé. El Pepino withblanco tequila, cucumber juice, lime juice, mint simple syrup, cucumber, mint The night started with a plated salad featuring bibb lettuce, roasted okra, watermelon radish, pecorino, green goddess dressing and family style buttermilk biscuits served with peach jam. The main course allowed guests to indulge in both braised short rib and cast iron chicken served over a polenta tartlet with rainbow carrots tossed in chimichurri. Finally, dinner ended with family style s'mores bites including house made graham crackers, house-made vanilla, strawberry and cinnamon marshmallows and choice of milk and dark chocolate bars.
Inspired by lush floral and decor embracing the historical venue, the design included a neutral palette and highlighted the ground's lush greenery. We brought in texture and romantic elements, like the stunning chuppah, tabletop details including rattan chargers, taper candles and old-world flatware details.
We brought in a pastry chef to build a heart-shaped wedding cake as the guests began dancing. The cake itself was an Italian cake topped with strawberries dusted in glitter.
Listed in the cake section, a special detail was the custom wedding cake built on-site by Contigo's pastry chef.
