Today’s provençal soirée is a mid-summer dream from beginning to end. In front of 75 of their nearest and dearest, Anna and Ralph exchanged vows at the beautiful Chateau Les Oliviers De Salettes on a sunny summer day! Love & Provence brought their vision of elegance with a subtle rustic touch to life. Lettre à Elise Events curated a little something blue to their blooms while Stepan Vrzala Photography was behind the lens capturing every last detail. See it all at the full gallery of inspo!
From the Bride… Anna and Ralph met at a rooftop party in Zurich exactly 6 years prior to their wedding. Pretty quickly they realised that what they had was special and moved in together after being long-distance for a while given Ralph’s job in consulting. A few years later, still in the height of the pandemic, Ralph organised a beautiful proposal in Paris at the private rooftop terrace of the Peninsula filled with Anna’s favourite flowers, hydrangeas. After their engagement in Paris, they spent a week in Provence where they both couldn’t help but fall in love with the region. So when starting the whole wedding planning process France and especially Provence quickly was their favoured destination. From the start, the couple knew they wanted an intimate destination wedding weekend filled with their closest family and friends which ideally should feel like a dreamy vacation in the sun. So while looking at venues they were hoping to find one which could host all of their guests on-site. As they planned during the pandemic, they only managed to visit three venues in person. Their choice was made very quickly after visiting Chateau les Oliviers de Salette, as it offered enough rooms and beautiful grounds, including lavender fields and the impressive tree alley.
After their venue was booked their design vision and vendor team came together with the help of bridal magazines, Instagram, Pinterest, and lastly of course thanks to their wedding planner Aurelie from Love & Provence. Their idea for the wedding weekend was a summery, slightly rustic yet elegant affair with a color palette dominated by light shades, lots of white and different touches of blue. These colors were also included in their wedding crests which were subtly used on little details throughout the weekend like the stationery, lounge pillows, napkins, or Ralph’s cuff links. Making their 75 guests in attendance feel included and special was the most important thing to Anna and Ralph, who were so appreciative of everyone who made the trip down to southern France for their special celebration.
To warmly welcome their guests to the chateau they personally created all of their welcome bags. The wicker baskets were filled with regional goodies like nougat, rose, lavender soap, and lavender sachets with their crest on it as well as some popcorn to snack on and a welcome note including the program for the weekend. Anna, who is a textile/fashion major, loved curating all of the outfits for their wedding weekend. For her wedding dress, she knew she wanted something romantic and surprisingly fell in love with the first wedding dress she ever tried on. The bride’s something blue was her Loeffler & Randall bow heels. After the first dance, she changed into her fitted sparkly party dress to dance the night away in.
From Aurelie of Love & Provence… The inspiration for the wedding came from the venue the Bride and Groom privatized for their 3 day/4 events destination wedding. Anna and Ralph wanted their guests to get a sense of the place. An impressive stone Chateau surrounded with lavender files and olive trees, Château les Oliviers de Salettes has it all if you wish to throw an elegant garden wedding theme in Provence! The blue shutters of the Chateau inspired the colour palette. Combined with shades of whites and creams, the hint of blue would be the main theme all along the weekend, from the welcome party to the Farewell dinner, all the while making it different: for the welcome party, we leant to a minimalist look. For the wedding day, we went for an elegant garden vibe. For the brunch, we incorporated a touch of yellow to make it more summery and Mediterranean. As for the Farewell dinner, we imagined a very long banquet table with lots of white and blue vases running all along.
