Two Brides’ Special Day Under A Lush Display of Baby’s Breath & Roses

Beautiful gypsophila and roses made this special day feel like a fairytale.  Our brides turned to Sinclair & Co. Design to help them bring their vision to life, with the help of fabulous florals the celebration turned out equal parts ethereal and romantic.  You can feel the love and joy of the day bursting through the imagery captured by Stephanie Mason & Co., see every magical moment inside the full gallery.

From Stephanie Mason & Co.Even though Cassidy and Dayna both played on the varsity ice hockey team at the University of Vermont (UVM) they never could have imagined how their love story would play out. While great friends at first, they both quickly realized there was something much deeper to their connection. Eight years later, with many ups and a few downs, Dayna proposed to Cassidy on the dock of her family cottage on Big Rideau Lake in Ottawa, Ontario under a setting sun with nobody else around, just the two of them. A few months following Dayna’s proposal, Cassidy also proposed to Dayna under the altar area at Evermore Weddings Events on July 23, 2021, one year away from their wedding date. Cassidy and Dayna immediately fell in love with the picturesque grounds at Evermore and the rustic, yet elegant barn. They had been dreaming of their wedding day and all of the details and inspiration that come with building a Pinterest board. The couple was focused on creating unique experiences and little surprises throughout the day that their guests could enjoy, while also showcasing their love for each other.

“We both always dreamed of wearing white dresses. We loved the idea of having two of all the best parts of a wedding; two dresses, two veils, two bouquets, and two pairs of wedding shoes, and of course, both of us equally anticipating the first look dress reveal” the couple says. With the guidance and expertise of wedding planner and florist, Lauren Sinclair, from Sinclair & Co. Design, the couple narrowed down their wedding day vision. “We wanted our wedding day to feel feminine, and romantic. A Taylor Swift Fairytale.”

What could be more romantic and feminine than baby’s breath and roses? The couple entrusted Sinclair & Co. Design to bring their floral vision to life and they were over the moon thrilled with how it all came together.

“We wanted the florals to be the focal point of our decor and Lauren exceeded our expectations! From baby’s breath overflowing over the edges of the guest tables to large baby’s breath arrangements on the bar top and round tables, to a lush aisle filled with baby’s breath, quicksand roses, and playa blanca roses, to a statement arbour behind us at the ceremony, we wanted the florals to stand out, and we think they did just that!”

For the last seven months of their wedding planning journey, Cassidy and Dayna had a secret to keep from one another. “The most anticipated moment of our wedding day was by far our first look. For nearly seven months we had kept every single detail about our wedding day look a complete secret from one another! Both being such talkers… This was HARD. But proved to be very much worth the wait. The excitement we both felt leading into the moment we both turned around cannot be explained. There’s something to be said about that first look, alone, with nothing to focus on but each other and soaking it all in.” Stephanie Mason, of Stephanie Mason & Co. Captured their emotional and long-awaited first look in the laneway at Evermore, and it was truly perfect. Each and every moment of the day was planned to perfection and everything was set and ready for the ceremony to begin, when mother nature had other plans. A crazy rain turned to hail storm swept across the Ottawa valley and delayed the wedding ceremony by an hour. With many different backup plan options, the couple ultimately envisioned the romantic outdoor ceremony and decided to wait out the storm. Both brides and their bridal parties made it down the aisle, just in time for a rainbow to appear mid-ceremony. After the rush to get the ceremony started in between rain clouds, the guests weren’t able to grab the toss rose petals the brides had planned for. Therefore, following the ceremony all guests were invited back to the altar so the couple could truly live out the newlywed bliss of walking up the aisle as guests tossed rose petals and cheered! During the reception, the couple and guests listened to the most heartfelt speeches from their closest loved ones, with tears flowing frequently, the brides felt so much love for each and every person in attendance. A surprise was organized by one of the bride’s mothers for golden hour; a vintage, turquoise 1958 Chevrolet Impala was awaiting them in the laneway. Stephanie Mason & Co. captured the Pinterest-worthy, sun-kissed moments of the brides in all of their newlywed bliss. The couple ventured back down to the ceremony area, where a champagne tower was set up with bottles of Veuve, as the baby’s breath arbor as the perfect backdrop. The couple moved back into the reception space to finish up with their father-daughter dances, but one last surprise was in store for all of their guests. In an exciting effort to get everyone on the dance floor, the brides and bridal party made a surprise entrance to “Man I Feel like a Woman” by Shania Twain wearing light-up cowboy hats, while the hats were also being passed out for guests to join in on the fun! It was an incredible way to set the tone for the rest of the party! As well as a unique take-home favor for all guests. Cassidy and Dayna truly thought of each and every detail, and really just wanted the day to be a unique celebration with all of their nearest and dearest loved ones.

“The biggest advice we would share is to really take the time into finding the best vendor team for you. Looking back on our day, we can’t thank our vendor team enough. Dear Darling Films, Stephanie Mason & Co., and Lauren Sinclair from Sinclair & Co. Design were complete rockstars and made us feel so comfortable all day, which allowed us to truly enjoy every moment. Although you plan the details down the minute, you’re bound to be thrown some curveballs, for us it was a hail storm, but a good team like ours helps handles the stress, provides solutions, and honestly saves the day, quite literally!! We left feeling like one day just wasn’t enough with our girls, it all fly’s by so make sure to soak it all in!”
