An Elegant Wedding In Mallorca Inspired By White Roses

This timeless and elegant celebration in Mallorca is proof that dreams do come true.  The idyllic day was perfectly planned by Moments Weddings & Events, and Otro Cantar Decoracion created a floral vision inspired by the couple’s favorite flower- white roses. Photography by Sandra Mañas Photography beautifully captures the love and joy of the day, you can take a closer look inside the full gallery.

From the bride… James and I had been together for 6 years when he proposed to me in the December of 2018 at our favorite place in the Cotswolds, Soho Farmhouse UK. James had selected the most idyllic spot to propose on the resort, we had dinner booked in the evening and afterward, he walked me to the most beautiful greenhouse filled with flowers and candlelight.

It had always been a dream of mine to get married abroad, and I have always felt a strong connection to Spain, as did James. We visited many venues around the Balearic Islands before discovering the beautiful village of Deia, Mallorca. There’s just something magical about Deia and Belmond La Residencia Mallorca was everything we were looking for and more! It just felt right.

I’ve always loved neutrals. For me, they’re timeless and elegant and I felt they would really complement the Mallorcan landscape. I used the same color tones from the invitations, the wedding stationary, and even down to the bridal and groom party outfits. The groomsmen wore beige linen suits with a crisp open-neck shirts and the bridesmaids wore beautiful olive green satin gowns.

When it came to selecting the flowers I knew that I wanted to create my vision around white roses. They’ve been a favorite of both mine and James’ so it had significance to us on the day. The bouquet was long stem white roses and I attached my grandmother’s rosemary beads to the stem as my something borrowed and something blue. For the ceremony, we used gypsophila with long stem roses around the entrance, and on the altar, the flower girl wore a floral headband made of gypsophila and the Bridesmaids also held a smaller bouquet of long stem roses.  For the wedding breakfast, I wanted to create a modern, understated yet elegant display. Nothing too much as the restaurant El Olivo is already so beautiful. It has the most spectacular view of the village and the church on top of the hill where we had just been married, so I didn’t want to distract from that. The color tones remained the same, a mix of white & sand roses with the addition of white Orchids.

It would be really hard to select a favorite part of the day/ evening. Everything was just exactly as we wanted, and I think that’s a credit to my wedding planner, Lourdes at Moments Weddings & Events for really understanding our vision and also our brilliant vendors. There’s truly not one thing I would change. If I was to say one aspect that had the most impact, perhaps unexpectedly was the mini tambourines, personalised with ‘fiesta’ written on the front. We gave these to our guests as a wedding favor to give them an insight into what was to come. This was a decision we made towards the end of the planning as we were struggling to come up with a wedding favor we felt connected to. Our wedding meal was hosted by our amazing wedding band, The Function Band UK. They are the most talented musicians that interact and encourage dancing between courses, so the tambourines were perfect and it was something everyone could take away with them as a memory of the fun we had.

Selecting my dress was a pretty easy process, I’ve always loved the Berta Bridal Couture style and I knew I wanted something elegant, glamorous, and sexy. It was important that I felt like myself in my wedding dress and I wanted something I knew James would like too! I was lucky enough to find this at only the second shop I visited at The Wedding Club, London UK. They also did all of my alterations and packed it for flying. My garter was made by my bridesmaid´s mum as a gift from the obliques cut off the bottom of my dress. It´s a nice way to use the extra material from the dress and also a personal touch. My advice for brides to be; make your decisions confidently and true to you both as a couple. Once you’ve made them, don’t look back, move forward to the next one. Relax and be present in the moment. It goes so quickly, you need to take it all in and remember it’s really all about you and him.
