It’s effortless elegance all the way at this sophisticated garden party in Provence. For their destination “I Do” our couple turned to no other than Love & Provence to bring their vision to life. The result is an artful mix of natural elements like terracotta and rattan with a warm and bright color palette that we can’t get enough of. Airy and ethereal floral arrangements by Laetitia C. – fleurs d’atelier bring the love story full circle, and it’s all elegantly captured in imagery by Hubner Dehe. From Love & Provence… Jenn and Matt wanted their wedding to feel unique, intimate and authentic. But also very elegant. Even though they wanted to get a sense of the place (Provence), they didn’t want to fall into the South of France countryside clichés. We wanted guests to experience a typical family-style summer night dinner in Provence with all that implies: tasty nibbles by the swimming pool at sunset followed by a four-course dinner cooked with the vegetables from the garden and lots of wine! We set up long tables to make the dinner really convivial and fairy lights to make it magical. We used natural materials such as terracotta, linen and handmade paper for the stationery, and incorporated thematic elements including apricots on the tables, classic silverware and rattan charger plates to get this “Provence outdoor lunch” inspired vibe. We played with a warm and bright colour palette made of shades of orange, peach, apricot and cream. For the flowers? Airy and natural floral arrangements for an effortlessly sophisticated garden look.
From the bride and groom… Matt is from Connecticut, and Jenn is from California. We met in law school at Berkeley and moved to New York after graduating. We were married in Provence at Le Mas de la Rose, and had a fabulous time—everything was even more wonderful than we could have imagined. We are so thankful in particular to Aurélie (Love and Provence), Véronique (Le Mas de la Rose) Laetitia (Fleurs d’Atelier), Sébastien, and Thomas, and their teams for making our dreams come true! It was a long road to our wedding. We were engaged in December 2017, and thought we would be married on either the U. S. East or west coasts near our families. Then followed a string of bad luck in our wedding venue search—one venue lost an events license due to a change in local law, another was affected by the California fires, and so on. In the midst of our venue search, we went on a vacation to Provence, and absolutely loved Mas De La Rose, which we found to be a relaxed, elegant respite in the countryside. Mas De La Rose has beautiful grounds, gardens, tennis courts and a pool, and not to mention the Potager du Mas (the on-site restaurant) was incredible! They only served regional dishes using seasonal, local ingredients—all prepared to perfection. After our unsuccessful adventures with venues in the U. S., we decided that Provence might be the best place for our wedding, and contacted Véronique at Mas De La Rose. With Véronique, our wedding planning experience improved dramatically. She was so responsive and helpful—she simplified the process immensely.
We enthusiastically booked our first wedding date for a year later in Summer 2020. Then, the pandemic. During those difficult times, Véronique and her staff at Mas De La Rose were gracious and worked with us through multiple postponements due to travel restrictions and health concerns. Eventually, we chose August 27, 2022 as our wedding date! We are both corporate lawyers in New York, with busy schedules, so we wanted to find a great wedding planner. We were so fortunate to be introduced to Aurélie at Love & Provence—we could not be happier that we were able to work with her! Her responsiveness, organization and attention to detail are second to none (she would have been a formidable corporate lawyer)! Because of her, wedding planning was seamless. She worked closely with us to help us bring our vision for our wedding to life—she listened to what we wanted (even if we couldn’t quite articulate it ourselves), pulled everything together beautifully, and had thoughtful and creative recommendations each step of the way. She also has an extensive network of contacts with local vendors (and knew exactly who we would like working with and what we were looking for), and worked collaboratively with us and our vendors every step of the way. On the day of wedding, Aurélie was the consummate professional—calm and collected (and delightful to be around)—and made sure everything ran impeccably. We were free to focus on each other and enjoy the company of our closest friends and family. Our wedding was even better than we ever could have imagined.
