From Valley & Co.… A decadent Jewish wedding inspired by vineyards in Tuscany, this design was a delight to create. The statement chuppah was dripping with vibrant summery hues and grape vines, our bride Rachel delighted in her off-shoulder frock, and the dining experience was a study in elevated rustic fare.
From the couple… We went to college together and met during my freshman year. We made plans to see each other the next day and as they say, the rest is history. While jobs and PhD programs separated us physically over the last 8. 5 years of our relationship, the emergence of remote work during the pandemic gave us the perfect opportunity to finally settle down together with a (rental) house of our own. During our wedding venue hunt we saw many beautiful properties across the greater Seattle area, but Chateau Lill immediately spoke out to both of us.
From the ceremony lawn tucked between tall evergreen trees to the beautifully draped reception tent to the alpacas on the farm next door peeking their heads over the fence, we were in love. Our inspiration for the day was a romantic, old-world, garden wedding and our planning team, Valley & Co., executed our vision to a T. Aleah went out of her way to incorporate meaningful Jewish elements for us like our chuppah topped with a family heirloom handsewn by my great-grandmother. To all future brides, I have one piece of advice (adapted from the infamous Ferris Bueller’s Day Off): “Life Your wedding moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”
