From McSween Photography… Harry and I arrived in New York a day before Shannon and Phil’s Long Island wedding. Making a pit stop in Oyster Bay at the florist shop we decided we should look since their Planting Fields ArboretumWedding portraits would be there the next day. Seriously, if I lived in Oyster Bay I would be at Planting Fields all the time. It’s so gorgeous, everywhere you turn it’s like a dream. Especially now that it is summer and everything is in bloom. We went by to scout the venue and I am so glad we did because it is quite sprawling. We first went to the Italian garden and oh my heavens it is stunning. There is a hobbit-like house called the Tea House that sits adjacent to a crystal blue fountain surrounded by a plethora of flowers in bloom. We made our way around the estate visiting the Rose Arbors, and greenhouses. The next day for Shannon and Phil’s wedding day we arrived for their first look and start in front of the Tea House. An utterly perfect moment between Phil and Shannon. After a first look, we took a spin through the garden and then over to the Camellia House for family and bridal party photos. The Camellia House has exquisite architecture, perfect for Phil and Shannon’s family photos and bridal party pictures. Shannon and Phil’s Planting Fields Arboretum Wedding portraits will forever be some of my favorites.
When I used to think of backyard weddings, luxury is not something that came to mind. However, wait until you see this one, it is amazing. Shannon and Phil married a few weeks ago on a mild summer day in July. And when I say it was mild, a mere 82 degrees made for the perfect day! Literally, it’s normally so hot, but their day was amazing. Leaving this Long Island New York Wedding a must-see event. A sailcloth tent was set up behind the pool for an amazing wedding reception. And a gorgeous ceremony with an aisle flanked on both ends with gorgeous flower arches. Shannon walked down the aisle in a gorgeous Berta gown to Phil, who was crying tears of joy. They shared the most precious vows and shared rings and a kiss to seal their love. Exiting through guests tossing flower petals and another kiss at the end of the aisle, their forever together started. Their wedding reception started with a cocktail hour around the pool with a mixologist and three custom cocktails to choose from.
From cocktail-hour guests entered the gorgeous sail cloth tent to their seats for a delicious meal. Friends and family toasting the couple’s happiness, first dances, and special songs were all part of the celebration, followed by a fun party of dancing! We adore Phil and Shannon and the love they share. From the very first phone call, we knew these two were going to be an unstoppable force together. We love their day and the love they share. It is such a great honor to be a part of their magical day.
