Here’s Why We’re Obsessed With the Oversized Bow Fashion Trend!

If you ask us, the bigger the bow, the better! Bows in general continue to make their appearance in the wedding world from fashion to place settings and today’s editorial captured by Olivia Marshall Photography is full of them and we couldn’t be more in love. Montalvo Arts Center was the backdrop for the day, planned by Meag Breanne Events which showcased a color palette of soft blues, apricots, and creams and fun florals by Muse Floral Co. The model bride wore not one, but two Luciana Emilia dresses each with a statement bow, which inspired the entire shoot! So, there is only one statement left to be said…add some bow details to your special day – you won’t regret it!

The inspiration for this wedding editorial came from the beautiful oversized bows on Luciana Emilia’s custom designed gowns and the stunning exterior of Villa Montalvo. We wanted to carry bow details throughout the entire shoot so we included them on the cake, the bride’s shoes, one at each place setting, and a bowtie for our groom.

The velvet blue table linen, symbolizing “something blue”, and the florals, especially the luscious cafe au lait dahlias, really brought the color palette of peaches, apricots, and creams to life! Our bride wore two custom gowns by Luciana Emilia, one of her classic one shoulder long gowns, complete with an oversized bow on the back.

And for a fun second look, we chose one of her brand new short cocktail dresses and a fun pair of Bella Bella Shoes! We love a good champagne tower and wanted to put a new twist on ours which featured a pink rosé.

Our mission with the overall design was to inspire newly engaged couples and show them that they can have fun with color and still have a classic and timeless wedding!
