A Romantic Wedding in Sintra With Buttery Yellow Florals And Blue Frescoed Walls

This 14th-century monastery made the perfect backdrop for an inspirational shoot filled with modern romance.  Buttery yellow florals and blue frescoed walls play together perfectly in this utterly elegant day planned by AMV Weddings. Floral design by Siloh Floral is a feast for the eyes, and every magical moment is artfully captured in the imagery by Sophie Kaye Photography.  Get a closer look at all the lovely in the full gallery.

From AMV Weddings… The monastery at Penha Longa which dates back to the 14th century, features classical Portuguese style architecture, offering the most romantic setting for a destination wedding. When designing this shoot the Salao Nobre space inspired us with its beautifully adorned ceilings in a soft yellow and white palette.

The elongated tablescape filled this space, adorned with florals designed by Siloh Floral in shades of creamy yellow and subtle pops of white. To tie in the stunning outdoor grounds, the monastery ruins in the heart of the tropical forest served as our ceremony space, where lush florals surrounded the ruins pond, creating the most alluring setting for our couple’s nuptials!

After the ceremony, our real couple Dani & Cynthia enjoyed a peaceful moment in the open-air courtyard of the monastery where we set up a lounge amidst the colorful blue frescoed walls of the space. Our bride Cynthia wore a gown by Naeem Khan, which featured a more relaxed lace embellished look to fit the calming understated elegance of the venue.
