This Citrus-Forward Rehoboth Beach Affair Will Have You Crushin’ on Colorful Summer Weddings!

Bennett & Kirk’s affair at King’s Creek Country Club in Rehoboth Beach was colored with sweet and sentimental touches! A. Dominick Events elevated a ‘meet me at the beach’ feel with a citrus-forward palette while Sophie Felts’ florals added a vibrant burst of fun and color! Before guests danced the night away, they sipped on the beach town’s iconic ‘orange crushes’ – the cocktail that brought the two lovebirds together on the night they met! See why we’re ‘crushing’ hard on this special day in the full gallery by Bonnie Sen Photography!

From Bonnie Sen Photography… Bennett and Kirk first met during a weekend in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware celebrating July 4th with friends and orange crushes, a popular cocktail at the Delaware beaches. After two years of dating in New York City, Kirk popped the question on the beach in Rehoboth in September 2019 and the wedding planning commenced! There was never a doubt that they wanted to bring their friends and family to Rehoboth and Dewey Beach to celebrate their marriage. However, the world had different plans and, like many other couples, they had to change their original 2020 wedding plans.

On September 26, 2020, Bennett and Kirk married in Baltimore, Maryland in front of their immediate family on the farm where Bennett was raised. But the following September they were able to celebrate in the way they originally envisioned with close friends and family in Rehoboth! The couple hosted cocktail hour and a reception at Kings Creek Country Club.

Despite the two year planning process, Aimee Dominick of A. Dominick Events helped seamlessly pivot the wedding plans and Bonnie Sen, an extraordinary photographer, captured all the big moments of the wedding ceremony and party. The combination of an intimate wedding and delayed party with friends and family resulted in a perfect series of events that they wouldn’t change for anything!

Aimee helped bring Bennett’s “beachy but not nautical” vision to life with a colorful palette and little touches of the beach. Sophie Felts and her brilliant team produced colorful floral masterpieces throughout the day. Sophie created a colorful floral and citrus ‘crush bar’ for cocktail hour to honor the drink of the town, an orange crush, and pay homage to the weekend Bennett and Kirk first met. Sophie’s brilliant floral work did not stop there. Green vines cascaded down the tent poles and above the dance floor with more colorful florals. The table arrangements of multicolored florals popped against the white floors and tables. Guests danced the night away to the incredible band, Hero, on a printed Delaware shoreline map matching the wedding invitation design. The whole weekend was a perfect “meet me at the beach” celebration!
