A Sun-kissed California Wedding Infused With Citrus Inspired Elements

This California wedding is sweeter than sunshine.  Filled with citrus-inspired details, from the cheery color palette to real lemons lining the reception table, Embark Event Design created a day that’s equal parts chic and fun.  Beautiful blooms from The Flora Club in tones of pink, yellow, and orange are sure to put a smile on your face.  You’ll love every bright and beautiful moment artfully captured in imagery by Jen Rodriguez Photography, visit the full gallery for your dose of vitamin C!

From Embark Event DesignElise and Jasper’s history at HammerSky Vineyards dates far back before they said “I Do” at the beautiful vineyard and even long before they were engaged. Elise and Jasper met on a sunny day in Southern California as Elise made her way home from a long work trip with her colleague & friend. From Elise, “All I could think about was getting home and relaxing on the couch, but my friend had other plans. We were to go hang out at our friend’s house in Venice beach for a BBQ. Little did I know, Jasper also happened to live at that house. I told her ‘no way, I’m headed home to get some rest’ but Liz quickly won that battle and I obliged (all it took was a mimosa and Liz telling me how good my eyelashes looked). Even though I know we would’ve still met one way or another, I always think about what would’ve happened if I wasn’t so easily convinced.”

From the day of the unexpected BBQ later, Elise and Jasper were inseparable and immediately began traveling the world together, with one of their first stops being California’s Central Coast & HammerSky Vineyards where they would eventually wed. As Elise and Jasper sipped wine and looked out over the beautiful rolling hills bursting with vines, Elise let out “If we ever get married… This would be the place”. Fast forward to the not-so-easy year that 2020 was as Elise and Jasper navigated being newly engaged and planning a wedding in their dream spot all amidst a global pandemic. Instead of letting a wedding postponement and the many challenges and pivots that came along with it get them down, Elise and Jasper decided to have faith that the future would still be bright, so much so that we adopted this mindset for their entire wedding weekend! Jasper and Elise’s new shared last name is Albright – which paved way for their wedding and life slogan “It’s Gonna Be Albright!” Every last detail of this sunkissed California wedding features sweet nods to brightness and happiness, from the warm color palette to the lemon filled tablescape and beyond.

From Sarah at Embark Event Design, “Designing Elise and Jasper’s wedding weekend was one of my fondest memories of 2020 and 2021. With each design & logistics decision, Elise and Jasper kept the focus on their love for each other and gifting each of their guests a magical weekend in California. We spent countless hours pouring over custom paper goods with Britt at Swell Press Paper, resulting in a beautiful invitation suite featuring Elise and Jasper’s love story and citrus-inspired elements. We kept the imminent change of season in mind for this late September wedding and tied in hints of sunset tones throughout the design

while still allowing for the yellow and happy hues to pop. Elise’s chic Sarah Seven gown and Jasper’s custom tux (engraved with their motto – of course!) were the perfect selections for this classic setting. The two enjoyed every last moment of their day and danced long into the night never leaving each other’s side – finally husband and wife and with a very bright future ahead!
