This Intimate Private Estate Wedding Proves There’s No Place Like Home

This backyard Virginia wedding is one for the books! With the help of Cheers Darling Events, Camille and Dwight turned their home into the wedding venue of their dreams.  The neutral color palette played perfectly with the green of their garden and the pop of blue for their poolside reception! Floral & Bloom Designs created organic, free-flowing arrangements for the perfect touch of relaxed elegance.  The intimate celebration was perfectly captured in the imagery by Kim Branagan, proving that there really is no place like home.  See the full day unfold in the full gallery.

From Kim BranaganCamille and Dwight were married on Saturday, September 18th at their home in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. They were engaged early in 2021, knowing that they wanted to wed before the end of the year (they had been together for six years), and decided to welcome a small group of their family and friends to their new home would be the perfect way to celebrate. Camille and Dwight wanted the focus to be on their love, family, and sharing a good meal, with good drinks.

After exchanging vows, the couple mingled with their guests around the pool before inviting everyone to take a seat at one long table, set for 55 guests. The group enjoyed a long, al fresco meal under bistro lights – the meal was served family-style, with french-passed proteins, to encourage conversation throughout the meal. Guests enjoyed a multi-course meal from Heirloom Catering & Event Design – starting with individual mezze platters of dips, veggies & bread, followed by a grilled romaine salad, ribeye steak, sea bass, crispy asparagus, and roasted fingerling potatoes.

Following dinner, Camille’s stepfather serenaded the guests with a few songs on the saxophone while Camille and Dwight cut into their beautiful, three-tiered Buttercream Bake Shop wedding cake. Camille and Dwight kicked off the dancing with their first dance, with Dwight’s four daughters joining them on the dance floor to “Shake it Off” to get that party started. As guests enjoyed dancing, mini gelato cones and wedding cake were passed around the party.
