FromLeigh Heiserman of Lauryn Prattes Events… When Lori and Alex’s original wedding plans in St. Lucia were canceled due to Covid, they opted for an intimate wedding at one of Washington DC’s historic properties, Anderson House, known for its European-inspired architecture and beautiful outdoor garden.

With an intimate guest count of 35, we were able to dream up ideas in the Anderson House garden that we would not have been able to do with a larger guest count. For the ceremony, we created a floating aisle across the garden’s reflecting pool that was later repurposed as the string quartet’s stage for cocktail hour and dinner entertainment. We worked closely with Social Supply and Sweet Root Village to create a custom structure over the dinner table that felt like an extension of the surrounding flowers in the garden.

As the sun set, guests indulged in a three-course tasting experience provided by Ridgewells Catering under the glowing chandeliers. Following dinner, guests enjoyed late-night cocktails, featuring a roaming Old Fashioned bar as a nod to Alex’s favorite drink. Lori and Alex then took their first dance together on the floating aisle over the pool surrounded by what matters most, their family and friends.
